George Street Hotel

"This is a hidden gem. The entrance is just a door on the street that opens onto a hall with an elevator at the end. The lobby is on the next floor, and is pretty simple, but the staff was uniformly friendly. But then you get to the rooms. They are large by European standards, fully up to date, nicely furnished, and very comfortable. The building is about 200+ years old, but it was fully renovated a few years ago. The hotel is in the middle of the center city and just a few minutes walk to just about everything. Highly recommended."

"The night shift front desk staff is very helpful and nice. The breakfast is good but the bacon is very salty. Tha car parks in front of the hotel are small relatively. Overall, the hotel is recommended."

"The hotel is located 1.7miles to the centre of Oxford. Which is lovely, if like me you love walking!! It is in the great location of Summer Town with a parade of shops for restaurants, coffee shops and local supermarkets. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well stocked with clean towels, toilet paper and shower gel. However, there were only 2 hangers to hang either a coat or handbag. There was no other furniture or hanging space and no tea or coffee facilities in the room. Parking is on a first come first served basis - I would advise arriving there before 11am when check out is to grab a space. Once you've paid £15 per night, the parking is guaranteed to be yours, even if you decide to drive somewhere else and then return, you'll find a space."

"Warm welcome, spacious comfortable room, with everything you need. Food menu in the cafe was limited but good portions - and with the added bonus of free sweet and savoury treats for residents. Limited parking on site - but if you pre-pay you get a daily food allowance, so good value. And very easy 18-20 min walk to the town centre, including a nice walk along the river path."

"This is a lovely hotel. However, the floor plan is very complex. The room we had (and certainly not the cheapest) was on the first floor. Up to the first floor in the elevator. Up several steps, down several steps and then down 2 flights of stairs. This is definitely not accessible."
