"I really enjoyed our stay and our cottage was lovely. My only real complaint is that there was an incessant beeping - like a fire alarm panel chirping - coming from the dining area where they serve breakfast. You could hear it from outside the building, and it permeated the dining room while eating breakfast! I called the front office about the noise, but it chirped through all three mornings we were there trying to eat breakfast! Insane. I still can’t get over what an annoying sound that was and I can’t believe no one on staff could figure out how to make it stop."

"Our stay at the Monterey Pennisula Inn was wonderful. Although we felt that the location could use some upgrading in the kitchenette area, everything worked and was clean. Yes, some plates and flatware were mixed matched, fridge was small, dinette table was scratched, bathroom towel rack was loosely attached to the wall, and bathroom counter space was limited, but it was clean. Despite these things, I give the room a 3 rating. As for the staff, I'll give them a 5 out of 5. Check-in was quick & easy. NOTE: I left my wallet at the front desk after checking in. I never do that kind of stuff. Anyway, the front desk personnel that checked us in (Roy), was gracious enough to bring my wallet to our room, not call and say come get it. I am so grateful for his attentiveness and desire to go the extra mile. Without my wallet, our trip would have been ruined. Lastly, I will add another staff member named Annette. Upon our departure, we left behind a computer thumb drive. Since we live 2+ hours away from Pacific Grove, we could not return. I was able to coordinate with Annette and Roy on getting my thumb drive mailed to us. Not only did Annette walk over to the room we stayed in, but she also searched the room, found the drive, and followed up immediately after finding it. Please note that I have left things behind at hotels before, but I have never had the kind of customer service and support to get an item back. THANK YOU Roy & Annette!!! You are the true reason for the 5 out of 5. "
