beautiful property, the staff its very pleasant and try to accompany your needs. we traveled with small children and they helped us with all our requests. the hotel has a restaurant on site and dinner was delicious. Also on reception area they have a mini bar ans prepare couple drinks and nice lounge area to enjoy it. i highly recommended. its a very short and easy drive from Assisi and has beautiful views of the city and the mountains. my only small complaint it was the bed was very hard..:(. but some people like it. I recommend it.

Worth trying

A beautiful location between Perugia and Assisi. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Excellent breakfast and evening meals served in attractive restaurant. Lovely swimming pool.

Not up to the standard presented
Was very disappointed to learn on arrival that the pool was closed. This was mid May on a day that was 20+ degrees and my reason for booking the hotel in the first place was due to the many images showcasing the pool area. After a long day travelling with my young family, the idea was to relax by the pool for the day. I considered perhaps taking a swim anyway but when we looked at the pool area it was clear it hadn't been cleaned. I asked the receptionist and she was very defensive about the situation telling me that the pool is at a depth that requires a lifeguard (?!) and that May is out of season (?!). The website claims the pool is seasonal but there are no details. The spa is a 2 person spa that requires booking so that wasn't an option either. Also the children's play area was a tired looking little tikes plastic slide. The hotel is also very close to the main road so is very audible when outside. The positives here were the restaurant and the man I assume was the restaurant manager was very friendly and helpful. Dinner was good and there was plenty of very good choice for breakfast. To be honest I feel miss sold and disappointed with how I was dealt with when I raised my points in person. I feel the hotel is more concerned with the local business trade.

Beautiful property located 30 minutes from Perugia and Assisi. Lovely restaurant on site that served a la carts meals. The breakfast in the morning was a beautiful buffet spread. We used the spa on site and it was amazing. We also had massages. Everything was very high quality. The only down side is the close distance to the motor way. The noise is quite loud but it’s still a beautiful place to stay.

Beautiful but soulless.
The hotel and grounds are very well landscaped and look gorgeous. My superior room was spacious, clean and well equipped but not very welcoming or comfortable. I asked reception for a more comfortable chair to sit in, and to their credit they gave me one. However, travelling on my own I found the place lacked warmth and a welcome. Especially in the dining room. Breakfast was included but was very unimaginative and never changed. Supper was awful. I don’t think I would rush back.

Gorgeous property!! Felt so Italian. I found the room to be tiny for two people but it made up in charm. Very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Everyone was very accommodating and kind. They have a spa on premises for guests who want to rent out the space privately and a fantastic restaurant for dinner and free breakfast.

This small resort was a welcome respite from a busy eight days in Venice and Rome. It’s pastoral setting, pool, luxurious bathroom, and spa services were just what we needed for a two day break. The staff was welcoming and attentive and the on site bar and restaurant are a real plus. The room’s rustic setting and some nice interior architectural details give a sense of history and calm. Our only complaint is that the mattress was a bit too firm for us. If we’re ever in the area we’ll return.

Umbria Agriturismo stay
Senior suit with spacious and comfortable. Restaurant breakfast and dinner was excellent. While the large and inviting swimming pool was functional we were not allowed to use it for lack of life guard.

Love this place
We stayed here as a family of four and found it a great location for exploring the Italian countryside. The accomodation is beautiful and spotlessly clean. All the staff are lovely and the food from the restaurant was the best we had in Italy. I would happily return here and recommend to family and friends.

Fabulous location, beautiful grounds and swimming pool. End of season so very quiet. Great base for visiting Assisi and Gubbio and Perugia. Service at the bar didn't seem to be available we had to wait for drinks to be brought from the restaurant. But overall very enjoyable and recommended.

A seductive retreat
Away form the city bustle, Riva Rivais is an oasis of peace and tranquility. With an excellent restaurant in the premises you don't need to leave if you're seeking a nice relaxing getaway. The problem is finding it. GPS is a must if you're driving. Also try to get there during daylight hours. Otherwise you might think the GPS screwed up.

Wonderful four-night stay at Ripa Relais
My husband and I stayed four nights and were actually surprised at the accommodations when we stepped foot into our "suite." It was beautiful with a lovely bed with side curtains, large all-white bathroom with modern fixtures, and a sitting room where we enjoyed our bottle of local wine before dinner. We chose to have dinner at Ripa Relais Colle del Sole for three nights and were never disappointed with any of our menu choices. The food and service were outstanding. We also thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast buffet with traditional Italian pastries, fruit, cheeses and ham. We highly recommend the Ripa Relais and will plan to return the next time we visit the area.

Best kept secret!
This hotel was our biggest surprise in Umbria. Difficult to find (down a dirt road...never would have arrived without gps) it was quaint, homespun and lovely. Rooms were each unique with hand made linen. Food was amazing and much of what was put on the table came from the farm directly. Staff was amazingly friendly and English was not a problem. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Another last minute booking for us and a real treat at the end of a long day exploring Assisi. Do be sure to put this hotel on your list of places to stay. The location is a little out of the way but we loved it. The breakfast is outstanding with all the wonderful pastries and freshly baked cakes and tarts. Even I couldn't resist the goodies. The staff are warm and welcoming and made a wonderful restaurant recommendation. We couldn't have been happier with the delicious meal we enjoyed. Check out the photos on their website, they do give an accurate story of what you will enjoy.

Lovely romantic getaway
More like an upscale Bed&Breakfast one might find in Napa than an actual hotel, this place is delightful. Location is a little remote (definitely need a rental car for sightseeing) but there is a 5-star restaurant right on the premises. The breakfast spread is unbelievable, as is the price. Sorry we could only spend one night.

This hotel was a delightful surprise. Hardest part is that it is off the main road (on an unpaved road) and without GPS I don't think we would have found it (we arrived after dark and were wondering if the gps was broken!). English is spoken by the very friendly, helpful staff. We also ate at the restaurant one of the best meals of our trip and enjoyed a huge breakfast each morning. Much of what they serve comes from their own farm. We came by car but many were there on cycling tours. We were about 20 minutes from Assisi by car (the reason for our being in the area) which was easy to manage. The view from our rooms included Assisi and the valley below. Breathtakingly beautiful during sunrise/sunset! Over-all very affordable and very enjoyable. Seriously, we loved everything from the canopied beds to the homespun linen to the flowers and olive trees. Clean and well-kept, will definitely go back!

A good find near Perugia
A quaint hotel, great restaurant on site, only slight downsight was the motorway visible from the varendha, but as the hotel was set back, noise level was not a problem. The bar area was unmaned quite a bit, so had t wait for a drink.

We stayed at this hotel in Oct 2010. It is styled like a farmhouse, but with modern and functional facilities. It is located not too far from Assisi/Perugia but it could be a little difficult without a GPS or good instructions from the hotel. Although it is located not far off the main highway, it gives the feeling that you are miles from anywhere. The rooms are tastefully decorated in a country style and are clean and large. Our room had a separate sitting area to the bedroom, so space was never a problem. The handheld shower did not hook onto the wall so showering was a little difficult at times. The bathroom itself is clean and large. The restaurant is top quality and serves up locally grown ingredients. Eating at the restaurant is definitely one of the highlights of staying here. Some staff at the hotel speak English better than others, however there is always an English speaker available when required.

All in all, excellent. Loved our stay here with a small baby. Nice food in the restaurant each night, and relaxed. Pool was clean, with pool bar. Very good value for money. The only thing to comment was that the AC was a bit unreliable, one night it did not work fully.

Das Frühstück war super mit grosser Auswahl. Gute Brotauswahl (selbstgemacht!) und das Rührrei frisch zubereitet. Das gesamte Personal war sehr freundlich, gerne bereit, nützliche Informationen und Tipps zu geben. Der Pool sah sehr gepflegt aus, uns war es aber noch zu kalt um ihn zunutzen. Das Abendessen im Restaurant war top und für was man erhielt fair im Preis.
