"Hotel was in a great location. Walkable to Royal Mile, food and souvenir shops. The staff is very nice and helpful. Only negative is the place can get sketchy with people asking for money. Also the hotel rooms need to be updated. Clean and everything works well, but you can see the old stains on curtains and dust in vents. Would still come back again."

"The hotel is ideally situated between the airport and city centre. It’s about 15 minutes by car into the centre of Edinburgh, however there is a bus stop directly outside the hotel on the main road which takes you directly through to Edinburgh Waverley station. We wanted to visit the zoo so it was a perfect choice for us. Check in was quick and easy, the front desk is friendly and very helpful. Our rooms were clean, quiet and amply stocked with tea and coffee. Towels were abundant and housekeeping did a light clean of the room everyday. We had a decent sleep, the hotel itself is fairly quiet however our rooms overlooked a car park and occasionally we would be disturbed by the sounds of work vans in the morning- we had the windows cracked open so you can always close them and turn on the a/c if needed. Breakfast was standard with hot and cold options available. The hotel also offers a selection of Starbucks coffees to purchase and these are available all day. Overall our stay was very pleasant and I would recommend to anyone considering this as a place to stay. "

"Have stayed here multiple times & it is always an excellent hotel property. However, two things of note for the Food & beverage manager: 1) You could use just a little more variety on your menus in all the restaurants, maybe a bit more seafood (in addition to the standard fish & chips), &/or a bit more Italian offerings &/or pasta/vegetarian dishes; & 2) The bar manager in the 19th hole bar (upstairs from the golf pro shop), could use some lessons in health & diplomacy standards (if he worked for me, I would fire him). When my brother ordered two draft beers, the manager picked up one of the glasses by the rim with two fingers--obviously, with one finger inside the glass. When my brother called him out on this unhealthy technique, he replied, "So? My fingers are clean." My brother rightly refused the beer poured into that glass, which appeared to anger the bar manager. I did not hear what other words were exchanged, but as a former bar manager myself--as was my brother--we both found that unhealthy handling of glassware to be unacceptable. Will let the F&B manager handle that problem."
