Duke Of Edinburgh Hotel

8/10 Good

"This hotel was lovely staff were friendly but seemed busy. My only thing I can fault was the fact we booked it as it has a lift as my mum is elderly unfortunately the lift was broken so we had to walk 3 floors each time we left our room. Other than that it was a nice relaxing place the bar and food were top notch. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are in town. The plus was it had it's own carpark across the road."

"Fantastic location close to the centre, docks, town hall etc. Very clean, beautifully equipped to a high standard in terms of bathroom facilities & with tea, coffee (nespresso type machine) etc. Sofa converted to sofa bed in my apartment which was fantastic! Breakfast to go is plentiful & means you can eat as early as you like (as breakfast basket is left in the room the day before needed). I highly recommend this accommodation. There are laundry facilities you can use for free & even a very pleasant courtyard to sit out in if the weather is good. We needed to contact the owners as couldn’t open the sofa bed (it hasn’t been used before so still had ties on from new!) A person came round to sort this out in less than 5 mins! Although there is no designated parking - there is free parking for up to 2 hours so that you can unload your belongings & free overnight street parking between 6pm - 8am. Calling the property owner before we arrived, they were helpful in guiding where to park during weekdays if required. Didn’t bother us at all, but you can hear the town hall clock chime on the hour if you’re a sensitive sleeper. The curtains are thick blank out ones though. Overall a great stay!! I’m glad we booked this property. Would have missed this little treasure if other larger places hadn’t have had twin bedroom options booked out! I highly recommend these apartments."

"The rooms were lovely it's just the small details that let it down like lamps and some lights not working, tvs weren't easy to put on, some not connected to the Internet, remote not working, The showers, were gorgeous and hot, the beds were comfortable, Beautiful place, and sitting in the garden with the sun shining was perfect 👌"

"A very old flat, like the others around, quite historical really, which has been modernised to a reasonable standard. All clean plus it had all the equipment needed, even an iron and drying rack. Disadvantage is the steep 20 concrete steps leading up to it."
