"The Sanderling is an excellent resort that is well maintained and full of amenities. The staff is professional, friendly, and courteous. We had a fantastic king suite with an ocean view. Please be aware that the building does not have elevators, so we had to lug our suitcases up and down four flights of stairs to our third-floor room. Navigating stairs is also the only way into the main entrance, so be prepared to carry your luggage—not exactly ADA-compliant. Additionally, our room featured two very large TVs: one in the living room and one in the adjacent bedroom. While convenient, both remotes operated both TVs simultaneously; turning on the bedroom TV would cause the living room TV to turn on to its previous channel and volume level, which was frustrating. With all of that said, the Sanderling is still a wonderful choice for a beach vacation in the Outer Banks!"

"We had a nice stay in Corolla. The house we rented was cozy and convenient, and the location, between Corolla and Duck, was ideal. This property looked to have been built in the 80's and is beginning to show its age, but it was comfortable nonetheless. The only issue for us was the climbing up and down stairs, which one cannot avoid. The living area of the house is on the third floor which made unloading and reloading our things a fairly significant task for two old folks like us. The bedrooms are on the second floor, and so we were up and down many times. The property included both a small swimming pool and a hot tub, but we used neither. Overall, the rental was a good choice since its location was ideal for us. Our communications with the landlord/host were good."

"We loved this house! It was perfect for our large family. It's very close to the ocean. The pool and hot tub were great! The hose access under the deck was perfect for washing off our feet after walking on the beach. Many hours were spent around the pool table. There was no foosball table, so that was a bummer. Our dog could fit under the fence around the pool so she couldn't be outside with us during that time. Those were the only negatives. We had an amazing vacation!"

"Great room great view!! What a wonderful place to have meals and hang out with family! Coffee with ocean on the deck! Wine with the sunset on the other deck. Fantastic. I thought the lower levels were going to be more modern than the traditional beach house paint and wood, but then again that didn’t hurt anything. Rooms were spacious."

"We had an absolutely amazing stay! The house was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and had everything we could have asked for. The location was perfect, and the property was even better than we expected. We truly enjoyed every minute of our stay. Highly recommend!"

"The house was in a fantastic location with views of both the ocean and the sound from the top level (kitchen and small front balcony). We could tell it was a well-loved home.Some beds were comfortable, others not so much. The kitchen could stand a refresh with utensils, pots and pans (all scratched up and wobbly), and coffee mugs - we were 12 people and there were 9 mugs. There appeared to be black mold around some windows and doors on the top level. Some sliding doors didn't work well and allowed bugs in (we had massive numbers of mosquitos and spiders coming in). The decks had virtually no furniture and the back top deck has a lot of boards that need replacing. We had a few issues when we arrived - a clogged sink and mid-level AC was not working. The rental company was fast to respond and got us up and running quickly. The primary issue for the AC was the outdoor unit was completely covered in vines and had to be cleared off - something to pay closer attention to in the future.For the issues the house had, it wasn't worth the cost. We've had much nicer, dog-friendly properties for less. But, the location was great."
