"We had confirmed reservation and the hotel gave our rooms away. The front desk lady just walked out at 6, closing the reception. There was no assistance. We we stranded on the parking on new years eve and needed 3 hours to find accommodation. Expedia couldn’t find any booking too as everything was sold out. We somehow found a local hostel. There were other guests too who had similar experience and were stranded. Do not recommend this business. "

"Our stay was great! Our kids loved the swim up bar and we loved sitting on our balcony and watching the birds each morning. The ecotour with Yau was super awesome! Our housekeeper Tatiana was fabulous!"

"I am very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. I booked a Deluxe room with a pool view, but upon arrival I was given a “comfort garden” room instead, which did not have any meaningful garden view. The plants outside the room were identical to those throughout the hallways, so it felt misleading. When I asked about the room discrepancy, Angela at the front desk explained that only garden rooms accommodate three people, which I understand. However, I was still charged the higher Deluxe room rate. When I requested a partial refund due to this downgrade, Veronica said she would speak with the manager and advised me to contact Expedia. At checkout, I followed up with Angela but was told there was no update. After contacting Expedia, they reached out to the hotel and informed me that the hotel refused to issue any partial refund. Additionally, the experience was disappointing from the start. Our room was not ready upon arrival, I had to request additional towels, and the room itself showed signs of poor maintenance, including water damage, cracked walls, and overall lack of cleanliness. Overall, the service, communication, and room quality did not match what was advertised or what I paid for. I would not recommend staying here based on this experience."

"Hermosa Beach in Costa Rica is easily the best ocean swim I have ever had. The waves are massive and completely relentless—just wave after wave. But you need to be a good swimmer if you are going to go in. The currents are very strong. I was wiped out in just five minutes, while some surfers were effortlessly riding them for three hours. It makes sense, though—fighting the edge is where the real workout is, while the deeper water lets you actually ride the energy. The hotel is right on the beach. We landed a day early, cutting the stay at La Fortuna by a day. We got a different room, but Jacob offered me the better room. As it turned out, there was a beach facing room but it was occupied. The following day, he transferred us to that room and didn't even charge us. The service is terrific, the rooms were great and the stay was simply amazing. Will definitely stay here again if I return to Costa Rica."

"The room had cockroaches, it was not clean at all. The bed board was very dirty and let’s not even talk about the bathroom. Very disappointed. Food was not good neither were the drinks. Honestly, not worth it at all. Bathroom towels were dirty."

"The property is nicely located in a quiet "rural type" area in a tropical forest setting. A nice swimming pool, a nice adjacent outdoor kitchen with cabinets, wash basin and fridge. The room was ample with two beds furniture. The bathroom was accessible but the shower had a slippery tile floor, so we needed to put towels on the floor to be safe. The out door dining was pleasant and and free breakfast was great, menu was greatly varied for other meals, the cooks and servers were very friendly and professional. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. A great place to stay."
