"It was fine but not as nice as expected or advertised. Dirty floors/carpet (our socks turned black). The beds were nice. Generally comfy with extra blankets. The water pressure is very low in the shower."

"Loved our stay here. Communication from the host was very quick. The pictures look just like the property. In fact the property is better than the pictures. It is very easy to get to either Canaan or Davis from here. Was very happy to not have to go up or down steps to get to the condo."

Cozy Cabin Getaway - Convenient to 4 Ski Areas, Hiking and Mountain Bike Trails

"The recommendation that you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle should be taken seriously. In the winter, I don't see how you could navigate a vehicle there without 4-wheel drive - something that the listing makes clear in it's description. The home is on a steep incline, unpaved, loose gravel road with limited space to navigate your vehicle, turn around, park, etc. During our stay in late June 2026 construction crews were tearing up the road and laying fiber optic cable which made everything worse and construction crews were staying in neighboring home(s) with limited regard to those looking for peace and quiet. The home itself is well furnished and adequate for short term stays but it is an older home and needs some work in several areas to close gaps around doors, screens, etc. It's rural so sometimes this can be challenging for city dwellers to adjust to (i.e. well water, critters, etc.) - all the things that also make escaping the city attractive. There's a lot to do in the area if you enjoy nature, hiking, the outdoors, etc. Host was responsive and answered all our questions. There's no air-conditioning but there's a very effective attic fan that helps to keep the home cool. It's loud but pulls the air through the home rather well. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals and we used the washer/dryer without any trouble."
