"We had a very spacious family room with antique furnishings. The room was clean, warm and comfortable and was equipped with everything we needed for our one night stay. We stayed on a Tuesday evening and we did venture down to the bar just for the one drink. Even mid-week, the place was buzzing and there was a good crowd in. All very friendly staff and customers; I was even invited to join a group of men who have been meeting there every Tuesday for a drink since the 1970s! That's what you call a welcome. We were set to leave too early for breakfast on the Wednesday, but the owner himself came in and made sure we didn't miss out. I'm so glad he did because the breakfast was absolutely outstanding! I'm vegetarian, but my wife isn't. Both our breakfasts plates were fantastic and really set us up for the day. You'll not leave breakfast feeling hungry. Great to see an owner who isn't afraid to role up the sleeves and go the extra mile for customers. Do not go past this place if you're in the area."

"The staff couldn’t of been more helpful & friendly, did everything they could for us, to make our stay enjoyable We had booked the Classic room (with 2 rooms) it was not stated we had to go down 3 flights of stairs to the toilet/shower room, which we didn’t expected to be going down flights of stairs in the middle of the night - the auto light sensor - doesn’t click in until you are near enough at the top of the first flight of stairs when you leave the toilet/shower room so in total darkness . Unfortunately the toilet/shower room seriously needs updating (spotlight hanging out of ceiling, cracked tiles, smashed/broken tile for skirting board, mouldy ceiling) The accommodation is in a private unit, with its own door which is situated to the side of the front aspect of the pub, staircase upto toilet/shower room & then bedrooms up on 2nd floor Main bedroom - Kingsize bed with a single bed & 2nd room - double bed (tight - not much space to move around) Beds were comfortable Nice to have a sea view (from main bedroom) If you’re a fan of Hope Street - great to stay at where they filmed - nice touches of this within the pub area"
