We stayed for a week earlier this month & it was fabulous! Check-in w/Felix was quick & easy. Javier was assigned to us for anything we may need. Javier was excellent keeping us informed & making suggestions where to eat & activities. He was amazing, there should be many more like him as he definitely impressed us with his attention. The ladies at the lunchtime ...Gabriella was awesome keeping white wine very cold for us. The guys on beach kepted our cool drinks coming. The beach was beautiful & surprisingly no seaweed. I would definitely go back & next time probably get the premier package to take advantage of the better drinks & pool area. There is a beautiful lazy river & also splash slides that adults too can definitely enjoy. The compound is easy to navigate on foot & they also have golf carts to help you get around. Also, you can go to the neighboring hotel, Breathless to enjoy the restaurants or shows. Lastly, no writs bands anywhere just check-in & get your keys!

Property was nice and clean, all the staff were very attentive and helpful with whatever inquiries we had. Our concierge Javier, was outstanding and was very helpful in setting up activities for me and my wife, he was available whenever we needed him and made the experience worth the money. I would definitely recommend and cant wait to come back

The resort was perfect. Javier was our concierge and made the stay wonderful for my wifes bday. Anybting we needed he got done from spa appointment, romantic dinner, dinner reservations and even setup surprises for her in our room.

Spent four nights at Dreams Onyx with our family and two other familes. The beach and pools were the big highlights, especially the water park at the Explorers Club. The staff and service were great, but the food was OK.

First time in Punta Cana and I wasn’t disappointed. Definitely will go back at Dream Onyx. We had the best butler (Franklin) and we would love to have him again as butler. Great and clean resort, excellent food,great staff . Definitely recommended, you’ll not waste your money booking at Dream Onyx.

Dreams was very nice and clean. All the staff was very friendly. Javier our VIP concierge was very helpful setting up with our day to day activities. Upon arriving at Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa in the Dominican Republic, my family and I were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the Preferred Club, where we experienced VIP treatment throughout our stay. From the private check-in to the attentive service of our Butler, Javier, every detail was meticulously arranged. Javier went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, even organizing dinner reservations and transportation. His daily communication was greatly appreciated. Staying here was an absolute pleasure, and we look forward to returning in the future.

The Steakhouse was awesome! However, I didn’t care for the food at the buffet, Capers, or the Hibachi restaurant. A lot of tables in the restaurants are very wobbly.The water would not get hot in the hot tub in our room. Bathroom shower drainage needs to be fixed. Our safe wasn’t working when we got there. Loved the pools & beach. Need signs around the resort to help with direction.

Upon arrival I paid for preferred benefits where they offered things I didn’t get. I was assigned a Concierge name Javier who was condescending and rude. Mini bar didn’t cool, the food from buffet is disgusting and always cold. They knock on your door at random hours. The bathrooms shower was old the drain was broken and staff was rude constant. The supervisor of the cleaning crew is very rude, and unprofessional. The hallways are extremely dark at night they feel unsafe. They use solar lights so the lighting at night is very dark. Do not stay here! Save your money and go elsewhere. I recommend royalton and hard rock.

The property was beautiful but had some issues with the food and the lack of beach towels available. Also could not keep the sliding door open to the room as there was no screen and so many flies were coming into the room - literally got 10 mosquito bites during my 5 day trip :(

Nice pools and beach area. Explorer zone for kids was a lot of fun for our 2 year old. Food at some of the restaurants could have been better.

Employees for the most part were very kind. The food is horrible and the hibachi restaurant gives you 30 minutes to eat and there is no show and very little food at dinner. Every single day the food is the same at the buffet and fair at best. Rented an Oasis cabana for the day and only had the server come 3 times for a $150 fee. We had to go get our own food and drinks which was suppose to be included. There are not enough chairs at the pools, plenty of room to add additional chairs. We had a swim up room and spent the majority of our time there do to no seating at main pool. We have stayed at other Dreams resorts and always left very pleased. We will not return to this Dreams resort again. Dreams in Mexico has never disappointed like this resort did. It’s a lot of money to spend and leave disappointed.

I think some of the rooms and areas could be updated, but we had a good stay otherwise. The staff is so helpful and friendly. The beaches and areas on the site were well kept. We also got a butler for booking with Expedia. that was a nice surprise. Javier V was very helpful, walked us around the property when we arrived to get us acclimated. He also Made any of the reservations we needed for food, cabana and even the spa. The food options were good. Coco Cafe had great staff. It's an easy place to go for a coffee and a muffin in the morning or any time through the day/night. Capers (Italian) and CinCin (Mediterranean) were the best to us. The food was good, and serving sizes were filling. The steakhouse was ok. The lines for the steakhouse and Italian are usually long. For the hibachi, you need reservations, but for the other part of the Asian restaurant you do not. The cabanas also come with a server that brings your drinks and food. They're also stocked with water & sodas while you rent it. The biggest thing is to remember to tip. A lot of the staff rely on the tips given, and they deserve it.

Hard to give an accurate overall rating. So many things were good, location, facilities, pools, slides. Service staff was attentive. The biggest challenges were dining, easily waited 1.5 hours per night for a group of 8. I know the larger group was more challenging but their system is really poor in this regard. Some restaurants are great (French, American grill). Some were just ok (Italian and Mexican). Buffet is pretty good and consistent, especially for breakfast and dinner. Room service was mostly good, but some timeliness issues. Basically, get there at 6 with your whole group and you’ll be good. After 6:30, you’ll wait a very long time. Smaller groups do better. The other challenge was booking through Expedia. Although the deal was good, you get the lowest priority. We booked two Junior Suites with swim up pool. We booked back in August for middle of March vacation. They put us in the handicap accessible rooms and didn’t honor our request for adjoining rooms and put us across the hall from each other. Those rooms are really challenging and smaller. And we were on opposite sides so we couldn’t swim together. :/. They did honor a request to change rooms after I pushed a little so they moved us the next day. Then we had better rooms and on the same side, but with a room in between. Still a way better setup. So all in all, it worked out. But booking 7 months in advance, I would think they would give us better priority but they didn’t.

I enjoyed my staff at dream onyx. Hector was my butler and handled everything for me with no issue. He made everything so easy and super quick. I disliked the resort drinks as they did not appear to have alcohol so if you visit just come prepared if you need a strong margarita bring something with you. Outside of that I would visit again. The food was okay but not many choices, you won’t starve but try to get into the specialty restaurants if you can.
