2/10 Terrible

"The property as a whole was in poor condition and was not clean. The food was not very nice. It appeared to be from a food service company, just thawed, cooked and served. It is clear that the premises had not been subjected to a health and safety impact assessment. For example, the showers were in the bath and no non-slip mats were provided. This meant that having a shower was lethal, as was getting out of it as the floor was just lino. Generally hygiene was very poor. Outside toilets were not nice, rooms were not cleaned during a two night stay. Expensive - I had a single occupancy room and I paid more, including booking fee on Expedia, than people in a double occupancy. Breakfast was not included in the price so there was no reason for it. Breakfast - this appears to follow game theory with different levels of breakfast and many options for basically the same thing. Pots of tea are barely a mug and each pot is charged for. For those attending a wedding locally there is not much in the way of an alternative close by. However, where there is no real need to be in Crocombe, I would suggest staying somewhere else."

"Plus points: Food excellent, very large portions too. Staff extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. Minus points: public accommodation areas tired and require maintenance and cleaning (particularly the carpets). Some small issues in the 2 rooms we occupied (eg. broken blind). However, the staff did their best to resolve any complaints we had and excelled in their customer service. The food at dinner and breakfast was outstanding. Overall, we were very happy."

Beautifully Renovated Farmhouse With Stunning Views

"Rock farm is a beautiful property located in the Quantock hills of Somerset. It was the perfect house to celebrate a special 80th birthday for my father in law. The house is huge and very comfortable for 15 people. The annexe across the courtyard was perfect for one of the families to stay in. We were very lucky because we had the most amazing weather for our stay. The views of the fields/hills were absolutely stunning. Definitely recommend staying at this house for a family celebration."

Luxury Farmhouse with Stunning Somerset Views

"This was our 3rd visit to Smokeham Farm. Each time we have been we have found the house to be very clean and well furnished. There were very few complaints from any of my family. One was about the potato peeler and one about the bed being to soft. The only other thing that was mentioned was the fridge was a bit small for hosting so many people. It is a wonderful place to visit with lots of walks & plenty to see and do when out and about in the local area. I would highly recommend staying here for large family gatherings and events."

"Fantastic stay over new years. The property is perfect for 2 families with a wonderfully spaced kitchen. The log fire was a great way to congregate everyone in the lounge for games and festivities. Rosie and Sue were fabulous hosts and always available or to answer questions or help with any issues we had. We also managed to get to the Quantocks for a sunset view and visited Kilve Besch for fossil hunting. Both no more than 15 mins drive away. Nether Stowey is a lovely village to wander round with 2 pubs to enjoy a few drinks. Only 15 mins walk away but beware the hill back is long and steep. Will definitely be back!"

"We stayed for a wedding and brought our 1 year old daughter. Manor and Anne were fantastic hosts and very accommodating. The cottage was ideal for our needs and the garden was beautiful, our daughter loved running about in it."
