"Friendly, helpful and quick check in accommodating that I arrived a couple of hours earlier. Room has everything you need, well designed for storage, large shower, comfortable bed. I did not use the pool but others did. Nice courtyard to relax. A small bar and meals available for lunch or dinner. Delicious breakfast with lots of choices, omelette, pancakes, cereal, fresh fruit etc. Great service. I would recommend and return here again. "

"Very unique experience - beautiful rustic setting with many farm animals on property and as it is a converted estate, has a lot of character. The restaurant was fabulous - personal touch by the manager and cook Ricardo who took the time to make it a true gastronomic experience. Everything cooked in wood burning oven, most everything served is locally sourced. Also fabulous breakfast. "

"Convento do Espinheiro Historic Hotel & Spa is truly an exceptional place to stay. The hotel is the main part of beautifully restored almost breath-taking complex. Rooms are well furnished, with comfortable beds, extensive storage and well equipped bathrooms. It is located in fully restored Convent, including a beautiful church and extensive grounds. The staff were efficient and effective and a pleasure to talk to. They were most helpful in regards to recommendations for visiting the area and willingness to provide detailed information on the history of the facility To celebrate my 82nd birthday, I reserved a suite and it proved to be a wonderful present. We occupied room 207, with 2 balconies, a large sitting area with a separate half bath, and nicely furnished private bedroom with a large bath off the bedroom. The furnishings and decorations are first class - simply magnificent. The Simmons king sized beds was supportive and comfortable. The spacious main bathroom included a walk in rainforest shower, separate bathtub, a selection of exclusive amenities and two complimentary bathrobes and slippers for absolute comfort.Everything worked just fine. "
