Rhos on Sea Holidays

Took two calls before check in pass codes were sent. Property is very run down. Broken window and poorly fitted doors and windows in room 10. Room smelled strongly of cannabis. Stained carpets and after booking as a pet friendly hotel we were told no dogs after 1 night. Hotel seems to be run as a kind of emergency accommodation for council services not fit for occupation in my opinion. If it had been advertised as ovo as indeed it is I would never of booked as poor experiences with this company elsewhere would of prevented it.police arresting a drug user outside the front gate upon arrival should of been a red flag.

Very clean room and well equipped. Entry via keying in a code for street entry door and then room door - no staff on site, but available via telephone/messaging. Only convenience store nearby, so it is a walk to restaurants and bars etc. Close to Anglian cathedral and walking distance to town centre.

The location is great, the parking is handy and the room is beautiful! It was room 6 on the back of the house and was very quiet. The beds were comfortable and the fridge was handy. But, of all the double sockets you could only use 1 half of it if you were lucky... they were a bit wobbly and you couldn't plug a second plug into the other half of it which meant if you had your phone charging next to the bed you couldnt have the lamps plugged in.... someone was aware of this as none of them were plugged in! The bottom of the shower was a bit yucky.... a toothbrush along the edges and in the corners might be a plan.... the cover for the plug hole was broken and kicking around the bottom of the shower and the shower wasnt working properly.... the fact the button was missing from the front of the electric shower was concerning in itself but adding to that I tried every setting possible for about 20 minutes in 34 degree heat until my fingers were wrinkly on both hands and could not achieve anything other than scolding hot or freezing cold. It was the back of 9 at night and 3 of us needed a shower after a long day driving and I didnt want to start messaging owner (theres no reception) at that time of night... but the experience was torture, we felt worse after the shower than before and the bathroom was streaming with water, surprised we didnt set fire alarm off with the steam! Also.... maybe a bit much to ask but the addition of a fan would have been appreciated.

The price was very reasonable, and the studio was a decent size and well laid out. Convenient location. This could be a really good place if they just spent a little time cleaning up and fixing some things. Some bits were very dirty, lots of things were tatty and breaking/broken, the extractor in the bathroom didn't work, etc. A little work could make transform this into an excellent place to stay.

Nice hotel and great location. Bit noisy given the nightlife around but expected. Was a warm night so left window open too so partly self inflicted. Air con was non existent but a fan was provided Smooth check in/out and no breakfast but bar area looked very good
