8.2/10 Very good! (1,000 reviews)
This hotel stay was poor.
1. The bar was non existent and a v poor substitute offered which no discerning visitor would take up
2. The breakfast offering at nearby Piccolinos was also poor. No gluten free bread, rigid serving times ( we saw one couple turned away and we seemed to be tolerated rather than welcomed.)
3 The lift was not working so we were down to 1 lift for 6 floors. I saw a fellow customer grumble and he was shown an additional lift......
4 Our window curtain in 528 was mouldy which I noticed on the final day.
I know the hotel is having some refurbishment but the price did not reflect a poor experience, nor were we made aware of this at the time of booking

"Apart from check in the stay was very good. The hotel is not as grand as it once was. However, it was great value, hads lots of parking, a great breakfast and so much history to enjoy. Personally enjoyed the character and charm even if hotel slightly dated."
