"Great position, accommmodated 9 of us ranging from 3 to 72 yrs really well. House is a little rumpty but we loved finishing our active days with pre dinner drinks at the pools over the road and cooling off with an easy dip in one of the many pools. Richard was a really helpful and easy to contact host. Well equiped kitchen. "

"Beautiful home in a fabulous location! Comfortable beds, AC in the bedrooms and Wi-Fi worked fine.lovely The spacious lanai was lovelyso that we could have pouring rain and sit in absolute comfort, looking at the ocean waves. Great beaches to swim and snorkel and play within walking distance and a very short drive to the Hilo airport. We loved watching Kai the Koi in the pond and enjoying the incredible pleasure of staying at this home! The host was extremely helpful and we had everything we needed! I may have also fallen in love with the walk-in shower: big and beautiful with instant hot water! We all love the place. The street in front of the house is busy and there are folks who party on nearby beaches. So if quiet is essential for you, then this location could be problematic. For us, it met our needs perfectly and we highly recommend it!!!"

"An old building, but a clean, well furnished two-bedroom unit. The location is excellent, even has a direct entrance to Carlsmith Park, great location for snorkeling, with many fish and even turtles, including a very large one that must weigh-in at 200 pounds. All dealings with the host were clear and informative. I enjoyed Hilo and the surrounding sights. Better restaurants than Maui since they need the return business of the locals. I was even able to use my YoutubeTV and AppleTV accounts on the smart TV."

"We had the most wonderful stay at Robert and Erin’s place in Hilo. Every detail was thoughtful, from the shampoo and conditioner available in each shower, to the snacks, to all the beach equipment, to the fully stocked kitchen, to the washer and dryer. There was nothing we needed that they didn’t have. They were quickly responsive to any questions we had. The house itself was perfect for our family of five - the two adults stayed in the bedroom upstairs, and the three kids shared the bedroom downstairs (and bonus-they had their own bathroom!). The neighborhood is quiet and a very short walk to Richardson’s beach. Carlsmith beach, just a few minutes’ drive away, was our favorite though, because that’s where we got to swim with sea turtles. The location was also ideal for all of our adventures - Punalu’u beach and the volcano national park were two favorites. Were we to visit again, we’d gladly stay in this house again. We were sad to leave it! "

"We had a fab time. Jack the rooster made sure we woke daily at 6am. A the manager made sure we were safe in our first ever tsunami evacuation. The snorkeling with the turtles in the "back yard" was the cherry on top! "

"Beautiful home and location. Beach across the street is rocky but gorgeous. We saw several large turtles grazing on the shore. Beach/park is public and can sometimes have locals with loud entertainment, etc. Still a wonderful stay!"
