"I loved everything about the house no complaints the price was good the house was very clean the host was the best friendly and easy to work with the best was the balcony was the best spot having dinner right in front of the ocean what more can you ask for only on the big island of Hawaii. Thank you Richard for your hospitality only in Hawaii Aloha nui from the Ng family."

"Bicycle chains need some help but other than that this is a wonderful place to stay in Hilo. Richardson beach across the street is great for snorkeling and swimming. Richard is a great host."

"This charming little home was perfect for our group of 3 couples having a quick staycation in Hilo. We love Keaukaha, and the location right across from the ocean is spectacular. Had everything we needed, and checking in and out was an absolute breeze. We'd book again in a heartbeat"
Epic Oceanfront Penthouse with Best Views in Hilo!

"The apartment was really nice with high-end finishes. There were an assortment of condiments and cooking oils and things left by previous guests and that was helpful. The lack of in-unit laundry and AC was a little disappointing, but he did warn us. The description really was accurate. The views were absolutely amazing, and we saw a huge double rainbow. We weren't able to actually swim in the ocean lagoons cuz we didn't bring proper water shoes, and it was way too deep for my 6-year-old. We did see a sea turtle though!We had really looked forward to the jogging trails through the jungle, and did not find them until our way out on the very last day. They are on the opposite side of the building from the beach, and they look like they would be lovely.The host was very responsive, he had the apartment available early and responded quickly when I had concerns. We really only had two issues. First, we got stuck in the elevator. It was only about 10 minutes, but it felt like an eternity with two hungry children. Luckily, the elevator emergency button call does work. The absolute worst thing though, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is the road noise. I know the host cannot control it at all, but if I had any idea how loud it was, I would not have chosen that spot. So many cars with their stereos at full volume, so many people in the park with stereos at full volume. I couldn't hear the ocean or the rainforest for the people. Beautiful for sure, but not peaceful."

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Love the Hilo side! It's different. If you know, you know. Rain, humidity, and true island style living. Great location, and easy to walk to the beach. You feel like a true local. Hard to beat the location at Richardson's Beach."

"The view was amazing. From the balcony or from the bedroom. When we walked in the first thing we noticed was the height of the beds. Needed a step ladder to get it but to lay down and look at the cove and ocean was priceless. Close and easy to get to Hilo but do recommend a car. Beach right next door and a beautiful black sand beach right down the street."

"A perfect property to experience the rawness of the island of Hawai’i. The home has modern updates to the kitchen and bathrooms but still keeps the authentic original plantation style build on the nature landscape of lava tubes and natural springs. The house is situated off the main drag through Hilo across from some cool black rock and black sand beaches. Expect to see turtles and beautiful coastal landscape you can only find on this particular island. With that, it’s a local friendly spot that can get noisy from cultural street burnouts and loud music. But it usually always goes quiet by 9:00. The listing is as advertised and you’ll be surrounded by real nature. Nature can be loud at night and bugs can be a problem at times but it’s a great way to explore this island and the town of Hilo. We will be back."
