Perfect location for Richmond town centre and for travelling to local tourist attractions. There is parking but not for all rooms so it you’re not lucky to get a space then you need to park in pay and display car parks.

We had a twin room. It was very small and not really suitable for 2 adults, but would maybe work for 2 children. The shower room was tiny, you had to open the door, move to in front of the sink, and close the door before you could get to the loo. Step down from the shower is huge. The curtain is at least 6 inches from the window so lets a lot of light into the room and as they have an illuminated sign on the building I found it very hard to sleep. Food was good.

A lovely stay in this beautiful old pub/hotel. Perfect location for bars and restaurants. Staff very warm and friendly. I had the single room for a one night stay visiting my son at Catterick. The room was spotless. Very comfortable single bed, gorgeous bathroom with products and well stocked tea and coffee (very important and usually lacking in hotel rooms!). Don’t forget an eye mask if you are a sensitive sleeper though as there’s a small green flashing light on the ceiling!

It was fine for an overnight stop well stocked bar, breakfast a bit pricey if you do not take advantage of the full buffet, we had an evening meal that was fair. Our room 14 was right at the top of the building and not best access for a couple in their seventies very winding steep stairs, but we do appreciate it is a very old building. We also had a very strong smell in the bathroom and had to leave the fan on to keep it at bay. Staff were friendly and helpful

Enjoyable stay in Richmond

Very hospitable staff, food and beer were excellent. Excellent location. Parking was a bit tight, and a bit tortuous to the rooms, but overall it was pretty much as expected, and an enjoyable stay.
