This is an average or better hotel, but a good value for Copacabana. Small lobby, a nice pool and terrace area, but doesn't get much sun in the winter months. Rooms are good and include a microwave and plates and utensils. Also has a two burner unit, but there are no pots or pans to cook with. Coffee maker also included. Bed was comfortable and bath is well appointed. Refrigerator is small and loaded with beer, coke and water for purchase. I had a room on the third floor facing the pool with a nice balcony. It was very quiet but there is no view, and there is no view on the street side, aside from looking down into the street. Free wifi throughout the hotel, I had few problems with it. Neighborhood is nice and safe. Stalos Cafe on the corner is a good restaurant with menus in English and a variety of food (good pizza slices) and can be packaged to go. It is also open 24 hours and is always busy and therefore helps to make the area safe. For the gay crowd, La Cueva is one block away. It is small and only busy on Friday and Saturday from midnight on.
