"We pulled in at 5pm and were promptly greeted by Bill (Judie's husband). He checked us in and gave us a brief tour of the building and the farm. Our room was spacious and well appointed, and the bathroom with the slipper claw foot tub was very nice. It was modern but maintained much of the character we appreciate. Breakfast was excellent, and included an impromptu lesson from Bill on (re)construction of the premises. Unfortunately Judie was under the weather, so we didn't get a chance to meet...

"Our stay was excellent. The property and rooms were clean, the breakfast was good, location was great - easy on and off of I81. Pet friendly and for those who stayed in a room near us I truly apologize for my 15 week old puppy barking. It was a great stay."

"When I checked in, I was told the room was behind the office. I got my luggage out and went on the sidewalk behind the office. There were no rooms there. I went back to the office. I was told behind her meant across the lot and on the other side of the pool. I re-loaded my luggage into the car and drove to the other side. Luggage had to be dragged up stairs as there was no ramp. Nasty bathtub. Drain stoppers had been removed from the sink and bathtub. Good luck if you drop your toothpaste cap or earring. Also made me wonder if a bug was going to run out of it."

"This property is amazing, truly beautiful inside and out. Very clean and friendly staff. Gwen was exceptionally helpful as our room did not include any sugar or cream with our coffee. She went out of her way to locate some for us, eventually just going into the Bistro to find some fresh milk and sugar for me, she even brought us some mugs. So kind! I was however extremely disappointed to learn there were no pastries like the website showed. I was truly looking forward to those BUT I would definitely not let that stop me from going back. I do believe they could do a better job in the Bistro area, the chef was trying his best with the limits he had. The cupola was beautiful, being so close to historic downtown Staunton was wonderful. We were celebrating our 21st anniversary and I am very pleased that I chose this place for such a special day!"

"Check in was suppose to be at 3pm, we arrived at 4:45 to no clean rooms. They tried to have us check into a dirty room and when I asked to just cancel the reservation (the place was notably filthy and there were several people waiting in the office because their room was also dirty) they informed us their cleaner had called out and they had 75 rooms that needed to be cleaned. They refused to cancel our reservation or refund us. Will never be using their services again."

"Haven’t stayed in a clarion in quite a few years. We stayed in a king room we were pleasantly surprised at what a nice room it was. It quite big and roomy. We only stayed overnight but would definitely stay again l. Knocked a star off as breakfast was kind of skimpy no yogurt and no pastries except for a poppy seed muffins which most places we’ve stayed has had on their breakfast buffet. Staff were really nice."
