"Let me say, the only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 is simply because we could feel the racism from the staff as Honduran-Americans over more “American” looking guests. It was very hurtful and did not make me feel comfortable as a guest in the hotel. Other than that, the place itself is beyond gorgeous and when my family and I were alone swimming we had lots of fun. The kayak staff was incredibly friendly though and an amazing person! I would recommend staying here but be aware that unless you’re speaking in English, lots of staff including the snack shop cashier and the receptionist will treat you like they’re annoyed at your mere presence."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1000% RECOMMEND. A Little Slice of Heaven in Roatán! 🌴💙 Puerta Azul was hands down one of the BEST parts of our Roatán experience! From the moment my friend and I arrived, we felt welcomed, cared for, and completely at home. The hospitality here is something truly special. The rooms are adorable, spotless, cozy, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The FOOD was hands down some of the best we had in Roatán! Every meal was fresh, delicious, and made with care. The property is paradise. The patio is perfect for relaxing, the private beach is beautiful, and the dock with hammocks over the Caribbean Sea is absolutely breathtaking. I could have stayed there forever! Most importantly, a heartfelt THANK YOU to Noel, Talia, the wonderful kitchen staff, night staff, and cleaning staff. 💙 You each played a part in making our stay unforgettable. Thank you for your kindness, your smiles, your conversations, the incredible meals, and all the little things you did every day to make us feel so comfortable and cared for. You made Puerta Azul feel less like a hotel and more like our little home in Roatán. We will never forget you! If you are considering Puerta Azul, BOOK IT! 1000% recommend. "A really special place made even better by the local host staff and driver. we had bad weather and there isn’t anything in the immediate vicinity to walk to but the house, gym and pool made for a great stay for the 7 of us and by using the driver service we got anywhere we wanted whenever we needed."

"This is an excellent place to stay. It’s right on the beach. The neighborhood is quirky at times, with marching band practice and local dogs always making things interesting and animated. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Just beautiful!"

"The Jolly Octopus is a prefect beachfront escape. It's got a quiet peaceful vibe but, if you want something more lively, still close to West End and West Bay. Stanley, the property manager, was easy to contact and looked for opportunities to make the stay more comfortable. Another awesome visit. Thanks again."

"This Cabana was as advertised! Everthing inside and out worked. Miriam was on top of anything we needed.Easy walk down the beach to places to eat. Dock was great to snorkel from.Can watch the dolphins from the dock! About a 10-20 minute drive to most activities! West End and Bay beaches, zipline! "
