All the service staff were excellent. I lost a wallet in a taxi, which was returned the following day by the driver. The front desk staff were especially helpful in informing me of all the steps I needed to take. The breakfast was very good and their breakfast staff were just great!

The hotel sounded like it would be "faded glory" and it was. The room was comfortable, staff were efficient and breakfast good, bearing in mind you don't usually get hot items in Italy.

Absolutely terrible... The first room we were given had a fridge that was not working, a nonworking TV, and nonworking lights. The shower head of our first room wouldn't even reach the stand for it, so we were forced to hold it the whole time. We were upgraded to their "best room" and all our luggage and items were moved to the new room without any warning or permission. They left a couple of items behind and it took a while to get them back. The 2nd room did not have warm water for showering, and the sink did not have cold water, only boiling water. we had bought a box of chocolate with 11 pieces of chocolates and when we left that morning and came back at night, only 4 were remaining, which means the cleaning staff probably ate them... the area was also terrible. I was pickpocketed on the same street on my phone was taken. Do not recommend this place

Good location and staff but rooms need refurbishin
Good location, only 10 minutes walk to Colosseum. Many restaurants, ice cream shops near by. Grocery store was just 2 minutes walk, taxi stand was across the road. The courtyard was very nice with ample seats. Staff were pleased and helpful, breakfast was reasonable. But hotel rooms and specially bathrooms are in need to repair and refurbish.

This place is disgusting. Door card didn't work twice. Room had a horrible smell. Breakfast was a joke. Parking was around the street in a very bad location for robbery.

Perfect stay for a vacay!!😊
It was wonderful the only negative was the room was too warm. So we just opened the windows and wore earplugs. The staff was Wonderful, helpful and friendly.

It is an antique hotel but they are doing the best they can to serve guests. A very nice place with a little garden in the middle of the first floor (the ground floor is floor 0). The place is clean but they can only do so much to make it look presentable. Staffs are nice and doing their best to help. They do speak English.

It was so wonderful to be walking distance to what we needed. The staff explained to us how to use public transportation and that was so helpful. Stay here made getting around Rome very easy.

Front desk are very nice people. Speak english so we can understand each other as we dont speak fluent Italian. I like our place specially the window as we open it, we are infront of the church. Very nice view. All groceries, amenities, tourist are close by. Also the terminal is close by as we use it all the time. I highly recommended the place.

Pleasant and helpful staff. Great location for railway station and main city centre sights. Cleaners could have been more thorough, some light fittings in our room weren’t working and the shower was getting a bit tired, but the room was spacious and given our short stay (3 nights) the above mentioned issues weren’t major problems.

Clean, great place to stay.
Clean, renovated old palace. Huge bathroom by Europe standards. Right across the street from Santa Marie Maggiore, and right next to a hop-on, hop-off bus stop. Very helpful concierge, and would stay here again.

The structure that you defined as dated is a historic residence from the 1600s and the furnishings respect the style of the time, even if the rooms are equipped with every comfort, air conditioning, safe, minibar where you can keep your favorite drinks, TV, welcome kit, etc.As for the breakfast, which you defined as non-existent, we would like to clarify that it consists of fresh fruit, fruit juices, fresh croissants and bread delivered daily, rusks, biscuits, donuts, various types of jam, nutella, honey, cold cuts, etc.Our breakfast attendant is always available to prepare tea, coffee, cappuccinos on the spot, and fried eggs and scrambled eggs on request. The hotel entrance is gorgeous and very close to Colosseum, but bed very basic and dated deco. Missing shower door, broken bedroom lock, breakfast very limited and not served at 7am like promised. I wouldn’t want to be travelling alone and staying here personally.

Right in front of Santa Maria Maggiore - beautiful basilica. Close to everything, easy walk to / from train station / termini. Breakfast was great, espresso and cappuccino with croissants, eggs on request, etc. wonderful.

CONS - The breakfast was not appealing. - No coffee in the room. - The room is so tiny you can’t even open your suitcase if it’s not on the bed. - They sprung a fee on us for my SERVICE DOG!!! The building is wonderful, but the management have not realised its potential. The courtyard garden could be very pleasant but during our stay no cushions were put out and the area was unused. With the proper treatment it would be a great place to drink a glass of prosecco. However there is no bar. Breakfast was poor with little choice and aweful coffee. Room was very clean with clean towels each day. Could be a great place, but is not now.

The common areas were beautiful and well kept. The room I was given lacked any amenities. A simple item like a glass was not there. There was a device to heat water for coffee or tea but neither of those items were there. In fact if I had boiled water there wasn’t anything to put it in. As far as I could find there was only one outlet to plug annything into. The only thing left on the cardboard tray were two packets of sugar. Nothing in the refrigerator such as even a bottle of water. The only place to put my suitcase was on the one hard backed chair. When I asked about getting a bottle of water I was told the water from the faucet was good to drink. Bathroom clean but nothing like a toilet paper holder. Staff very cool and removed from helping. It appears the room I was given hadn’t been completely finished. Pricy hotel with no amenities

That the hotel was close to so many eating places, and shops, and transportation. As an American traveler, I did miss a facecloth/wash cloth. I don't like just using my hands, soap, and water.

The location is perfect, walking distance to most sites and opposite the Santa Maria Maggiore. It's a beautiful old building with many lovely features but our rooms were badly in need of an update and a deep clean, although the views across the square and of the church were wonderful. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was basic for a 4 star hotel, but we discovered on the last morning that you could order eggs; this should be made clear. Overall this is a unique hotel but in need of attention.

The hotel has some lovely parts, including the inner courtyard pictured. The room we moved to was nice, although small for our family of 4. It was not a four person room. It was a double with two beds added. The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness of the bathroom and the ineffective air conditioning. A four star hotel should not have black mold in the shower.
