Tenuta Cusmano was a highlight in our 11 day trip to Italy. It's an easy drive from the Rome Ciampino airport. Grottaferrata is a charming town, just a few short minutes from Tenuta Cusmano. We took a taxi to the neighboring town of Frascati everyday to catch the train into metropolitan Rome. The train was easy to navigate, and allowed us to leave our car at Tenuta Cusmano every day, so as to avoid the ZTLs. We stayed three nights. The room had a lovely porch and view of the rolling hills. The accommodations were comfortable. The pool was amazing! But most of all, the owner Mauricio was gracious, funny, kind, and attentive. He made our stay feel personal. He entertained us with stories. It was a truly lovely experience, and we would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay out of the hubbub of the busy crowded city, but still close enough to travel easily into town.

The best part of our trip to Rome was staying at the beautiful Tenuta Cusmano Villa Resort! Maurizio is the best host there is! we have never met someone so personable, charismatic and hospitable like Maurizio! He made us feel welcomed and like we could go to him for anything without hesitation. Aside from the excellent service, the Villa is beautiful. It has panoramic views of Rome without the city noise, very peaceful. The Sunsets here are breathtaking! Also fresh breakfast every morning is something we enjoyed at the villa. I recommend Tenuta Cusmano, You will enjoy your stay here!

The check in was superb. The owner was warm and friendly and had suggestions for visiting the area- he even provided the maps to get to locations we could visit. Beautiful place to relax!

First of all, the view of the country side from the villa is amazing. The pool is stunning. The host is such a good man and bends over backwards for the guests. He coordinated a wine tasting tour in a near by town. The tour was worth every penny. My daughter loved the breakfast. They basically cook for you and they greet you with homemade croissants. The bathroom in our room was huge! The only thing to know is that there is not a restaurant in the property and you do have to walk about .6 miles to the nearest restaurant and just under a mile to the center of Grottaferata to find the market and other restaurants. We did not have a car and walked to dinner and to the market. One night we had pizza delivered. But we probably would have explored more if we had a car. The residents there don’t speak English as well as in Rome. However we found them to be lovely and helpful. We don’t speak Italian and we made it work and were able to communicate. We spent 8 days in Rome and 4 here. We wished we would have spent more time here. It is a serene place to relax, recharge and enjoy the natural beauty of the Italian country side. If you want to relax and enjoy a beautiful non pretentious space, this is it! Mauricio makes you feel like you are part of the family.

Little paradise

It was absolutely gorgeous, we spent 5 days at Maurizio's place : great house, clean, quiet, comfortable beds, beautiful garden and swimming-pool. It was walking distance from restaurant and the town. All the comments are true, this is a perfect place to rest and take some time for you. We can't wait to come back ! Grazie per tutto !

Haben uns sofort sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Ein sehr schönes Zimmer in einem erstklassigen Ressort mit Pool. Sehr gute Restaurants und Sehenswürdigkeiten befinden sich bereits in nächster Nähe sowie der näheren Umgebung. Bahnanbindung für eine Fahrt direkt ins Zentrum Roms ist in wenigen Kilometern vorhanden. Wir möchten uns bei Mauricio und Team für den sehr schönen Urlaub bedanken. Gerne wieder!!

A beautiful hilltop Villa, southeast of Rome.

A beautiful setting among the hills southeast of Rome that offered peace and quiet after spending 3 non-stop days in Rome center viewing the principle historical sites. The Villa is extremely well managed by Maurizio, son of the owner, who can't do enough to make sure that all questions are answered and every requirement of guests are met to utmost satisfaction. Maurizio is very friendly, cordial and always very helpful in suggesting restaurants, places to see or things to do, in the immediate area of the Villa. He's always eager to assist with copies of maps, detailing the travel routes. An example of Maurizio's "going the extra mile" for his guests occurred while we were there. We had scheduled a tour with a guide at a location about 15 miles from the Villa. When it came time for us to leave the Villa in order to meet the guide at the specified time, the access road out of the Villa area was closed due to a "running event" that shut down car traffic for about 2 hours. But our tour guide could not wait until the run was over, due to another tour she had booked later in the day. Maurizio said no problem, just follow him in his car and he'll show another way out of the hills and down to the main access road that ringed Rome. And that's what he did, leaving his Villa for about 20 minutes and had us follow him in a circuitous route around the "run" that enabled us to get to the tour and meet our guide on time. Maurizio came to our rescue and showed his helpful nature!
