I chose this room for a couple of main reasons. 1) Proximity to train station, this being our first trip to Rome. And 2) Rooms looked very large in all photos I saw and reviews I read. We booked a room in the Independent Suites annex to the main hotel and I assumed this would be a suite in earnest. It was not. It was indeed a very small room and by no stretch of the imagination was it a suite. All of the photos I had seen and the reviews I had consulted presented large rooms. This annex section of the hotel was undergoing some renovation, which we were not notified of, and I suspect they had divided these "suites" into smaller rooms. I'm not sure I would have booked this hotel if I had known. Also, choice of decor in the bathroom was not the best. The large sink (good) had no counter space (not good). I could not keep my bathroom toiletries from constantly falling into the sink. There was a vanity area outside of the bathroom, but there was not an outlet available there. The water pressure was so weak that when trying to use the overhead shower instead of the hand held device, it would not stay on! It was impossible to get a full shower without constantly pressing the button to turn on the overhead shower head. There was free water and a few complimentary soda items in the mini bar which is appreciated, though the mini fridge emitted a bad odor. The best thing about this room was that it was very quiet, as it was not facing the street. Clean and bed was fine.
