convenient and cozy

I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The apartment was comfortable and conveniently located near a train station, bus and metro stops, and a taxi point. There were several restaurants just downstairs and plenty more within walking distance. I stayed at Trastevere novecento while visiting Universita Roma Tre, and found the location quite convenient for anything on the west side of the city (Stadio Olimpico, Vatican/St. Peter's, Porta Portese, Old Forum, Colloseum, Spanish Steps, etc.).

Booked this place based on reviews and it was misleading. Located right across the train station, but it’s outside of Trastevere so you would have to drive 15-20mins to go to restaurants or be in central Trastevere. It’s very noisy and you can’t get a good night sleep. The place itself is decent, the bed is uncomfortable. The building is old and beat up. There’s an elevator which is nice but other than that it was a disappointment.

There weren’t many reviews, so we took a chance on this property. It was an incredible find, and we can’t recommend it enough! My only note to parents is to baby proof the room as there are many items reachable for little ones to mess around with. Also take note the host requires you to leave with dishes cleaned and trash taken out. We didn’t do this since it isn’t customary in the US and we weren’t aware of the expectation, but the host was gracious. Please take this into account when you stay. Also, be aware you need to contact the host a day before arrival since it’s an apartment unit and not a hotel with concierge. We forgot that too, but the host was responsive so it worked out. The last note on check in is you’ll need a smartphone with internet access to unlock the entry door. I’m sure they’d figure out a way to get you in if you won’t have one on arrival, but wanted to note that as well. There’s plenty of places to eat within walking distance and via bus. Would highly recommend this unit. Full of sunlight, and has A/C to help on hot days. A+!
