Ukihaus Hudson: Enchanting Hudson Valley A-Frame

"We had a wonderful time visiting the Hudson Valley. The location of this house is pretty good to proximity of attractions.The house itself is cute and modern, the beds were comfy, the shower was amazing, and the place was clean inside.There were, however, a few issues. The house needs repair to bring it up to match the photos. Upon our arrival, the place looked cool, but the grass, which was easily 12” tall, made the house seem improperly cared for. Upon closer look, paint was peeling and scratched up around the house and the deck was quite dirty with foliage. The folding chairs for the deck were chucked into the front corner in a filthy and bug covered heaped pile. The string of neat lights outside were broken and unusable, the bench and table were warping, and while there was a plastic bag of wood, there was no fire pit in sight- although the listing does mention fireplace. The photos are lovely, but the exterior was tired and nearly looked abandoned with the tall grass. The interior- it was cute and clean, but also needing simple repairs. One of the kitchen tiles was cracked, the drawers in the kitchen have warped, rendering them difficult to open, the rugs are curling up at corners- causing trips, and if weather is good, there are only two screens on windows, so open windows cannot be a thing because of the bugs. But even with closed windows, the house was crawling with large black ants. If this doesn’t bother you- come!We, however, would not come again."

"We absolutely loved this little place. Only a few miles to SUNY New Paltz . I especially loved THE BED in the main bedroom. The lines were fantastic too. Lots of blankets available, we went early May so it was a little chilly. Full kitchen with everything you need. I was happy to have a regular coffee machine with filters instead of a Kerig , which I don’t like. Even all the spices and sugar was there for convenience. We went to all the waterfalls and farmers markets. Great locations. The decks are also very nice and rustic. There’s lights surrounding everything if you want to hang outside. The hot tub was perfectly hot enough and very clean. It was a little too cold for me but plenty of kayaks and a little dock was there too. Very private and quiet. Really adorable!! The only thing that was weird is the water pressure. It goes down very low , so just don’t take a long shower. It wasn’t a big problem, the couch was a little lumpy so I just put extra pillows on it. The view of the river , especially in the morning is BEAUTIFUL. We can’t wait to go back !!"
