"This is a cozy old hotel that has a beautiful look to it. The location is great, right on the bus line, and the staff is very helpful with finding the correct route for you. It has a restaurant and full bar inside. The lobby is large and comfortable. If it is a concern to you, there are no elevators or fridges in the room, so plan accordingly."

"I arrived very late. The staff were so friendly, and upgraded me from a single to a double room, I think because the single had gone to someone else. The bed was super comfy, I've never slept in a hotel room with such a comfy mattress before. The room was a bit run down, but clean enough. The breakfast was very basic, but good enough, and again the staff were very kind and helpful offering cups of tea or coffee. Very impressed for a two star hotel at the price I paid"

"We were coming in late, so I called ahead. The front desk was very accommodating even though we arrived after they were closed. They left our keys for us clearly marked. The room was wonderful and the bed was spacious. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Our room had the old-style skeleton key so if you are not used to that it might be good to brush up on how to use it before you arrive. We've experienced that a few times in the UK so it was OK for us."

"We loved our stay at Sycamore cottage. It was perfect for the 4 of us. The kitchen is a great size and has a small table perfect for eating or we could eat easily in the sitting room also. The local Tesco is large and had everything we needed. There's also a Morrisons in Gorebridge just a 5 mins drive from the house. The beds were comfortable and the rooms a perfect size feeling airy and light. It's easy parking on site and there's a lovely local walk looking onto beautiful fields. The site is very peaceful making us feel very relaxed. We also drove into Edinburgh daily as it's an easy journey. We'd love to visit again."

"The apartment has fairly new interior, the area is nice, next to a large meadow. The double beds are a bit narrow for two full sized adults. Bus connection to the city is good, the bus stop is 1 minute away. The road could be noisy for some people."

"We stayed in the Gardener's House, just off the sunken garden. The house was comfortable and clean with views of the fields. The grounds are an adventure waiting to happen, you can walk to the River South Esk and pick up a trail to Old Temple Kirk or down to Gore Glen Woodland Park. Have your camera ready! It was so quiet and peaceful throughout the stay. It was our second time staying at Arniston House and would definitely stay again!"
