The staff couldn't do enough for us - super friendly and helpful. Our River view room was lovely as we could just walk up to the hotel terrace for an evening drink, with a view across to Salisbury Cathedral. Parking is easy and there's lots of it. We opted for the breakfast which was nice (sorry only one slight niggle - the cooked breakfast on both mornings wasn't very hot) and there was a good choice of continental and traditional. Freshly baked mini croissants were a favorite. Highly recommended - especially the lovely staff!

Lovely hotel with beautiful grounds down towards the river. A lovely 25 min stroll through the water meadows into Salisbury for our evening meal. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful too. Unfortunately on the Friday, we ordered breakfast at just after 9am but by 10am there was no sign of it. Staff were very apologetic and admitted that our order hadn't been sent through to the kitchen but by this time we had to go as had plans for the day. The charge for the breakfast was refunded when we checked out but as a goodwill gesture it would have been nice if our breakfast on the Saturday had been refunded too (I run my own business and that's what I would have done). That being said, it was a lovely stay and it hasn't put us off from returning.

The property overall is nice, But it is not a family place where kids have much to do as the place have no pools or park or anything kid friendly. It’s a peaceful relaxing place to get away. The 2 negatives I do have is that there is no asphalt in the parking, so expect to carry everything by hand, and heavy luggage isn’t fun to carry as the wheels on the luggage simply won’t help due to the tiny and deep gravel. The second negative was no air condition in the room or in the hotel for that matter.

Short break in Salisbury
Riveside hotel was set in a lovely part of Salisbury. Considering the front of the property is on a main road we heard very little noise. The garden and terrace were very peaceful. With a view over the river to the cathedral in the distance. Staff were more than willing to help and very friendly. Breakfast probably a little overpriced however it was a good breakfast no other complaints.

This property had just reopened after an extensive refurbishment and possible change of ownership. Everything was super clear and fresh. First class service, with the only hiccup, the kitchen seemed slow to get our dinner out. Beautiful views from the rear of the hotel to the cathedral. Not really walkable from town but worth the trouble and very quite.
