San Luis Obispo Wine Country Holidays

The room that was advertised on Expedia was not the reality. Upon arrival, the 600 dollars spent for a king bed with a balcony view turned out to be facing the parking lot. The room smelled like cigarettes. There was hair in the bathroom. We paid an extra fee for a complimentary breakfast, however it was not worth it. The glasses/ utensils were dirty and the food was overpriced for what it was. The pineapple (part of a 12 dollar fruit bowl) was old. I understand that Hilton is supposed to be a safe standard with Hotels and with me spending 600 dollars for 2 nights, I had certain expectations. I can’t blame the whole staff, I understand that certain employees have their own roles in hospitality. Maybe management can pay their cleaning crew better so there’s higher quality work. On a positive note, the actual location is very convenient. The Berkley Marina is a beautiful area to go for a jog and the city is right there. However, this is actually another bad look on upper management because it comes off as lazy. Hotel management is depending on the physical area surrounding the hotel to keep customers happy while maintaining the bare minimum with the actual facilities. One last thing, the Gym had a closing time of 10:00 pm. At 9:55 I wanted to fill up my water bottle at the gym and leave, but upon arriving I found that they locked up. I understand that people are tryna finish up their work day but again Hotels are about hospitality. Please stop being lazy.
