"Beautiful property, very relaxing and quiet. Grounds are very well kept and the proximity to the beach was perfect. Couldn’t have asked for a better pet friendly stay."

You can learn about the history of San Simeon with a stop at Hearst Castle. Wander the area's seaside or simply enjoy one of its top-notch restaurants.
Drop a fishing line to hook walleye perch and rubberlip or spend some time enjoying the views from this long timber pier that juts out from a protected cove.
Hearst Castle's opulent rooms and Neptune Pool reveal a media mogul's lavish tastes from the Roaring Twenties. Elephant seals sprawl along the beaches at Piedras Blancas, while Highway 1's dramatic coastal views make every drive memorable.
San Simeon is a blip in the road, and we love it there precisely because it feels wild and deserted. There are a couple of restaurants and two liquor stores/souvenir shops. Several motels and condos. Not a place for nightlife and tourist stuff.

We managed 3 different tours of Hearst Castle in our 2 days there. It wasn't our first trip to the castle, but definitely an enjoyable one. We also were directed to the colony of sea lions a few miles up the coast. It was great.

San Simeon is a quite place away from the busy and packed beaches.Just remember everything closes early. If you get in late(after 10pm) nothing is hardly open. And the closest fast food is about 40 minutes away.

Maybe my new favorite place in California. Just wish the restaurants stayed open a bit later. Town pretty much goes dark at 9p.

Convenient location for visiting Morro Bay, Hearst Castle and the elephant seals. Ragged Point is the best part!

Besides Hearst Castle there is not much else in San Simeon besides beautiful Pacific Ocean scenery and it should remain that way. There are plenty of nearby communities that are a short drive if you want to do some shopping or wine tasting.

San Simeon is a very small town and there are not many choices when it comes to hotels and dining. We only stayed there because we had an early morning tour at the Hearst Castle - which was amazing
"The property is well kept and the customer service was excellent. If there is any negative is that housekeeping did not check the shelf above the coffee area. I found a bag of trash, including a pizza box left behind from the prior occupants. And also, you may look into adding another elevator, one is not enough, sometimes there are long waits. "
