I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful and welcoming the staff were to us! The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. And the views from the main balcony are absolutely amazing!

We were in Italy for 3 weeks staying in 7 hotels and these gem of hotel was the top of all of them…far enough from Sorrento so you can enjoy the marvelous view and 10 minutes to lively sorrento that you could enjoy the town at your leasure. The restaurant is divine! We order the steak, OMG! Perfection (a bit on the pricey side but out of all the meals we had, this was probably top 5) The gardeners are beautiful and so peaceful. That was my favorite, just enjoying the view and the amazing trees

Amazing staff, clean room, quiet since it’s away from Sorrento, and a fantastic view. If your goal is to be near Sorrento and you’re okay with either walking (20 minutes) or taking a taxi to Sorrento then I would highly recommend staying here.

We just absolutely loved staying here. So unique in that it’s an old monastery in an incredible setting with stunning views. Only a few rooms on each floor, very quiet. Large, comfortable room. The service in the restaurant and what was offered left some to be desired, but overall would stay again

A beautiful place too bad I did not have enough time and whether was not the best to enjoy the beautiful grounds.The only negative part is that the hotel is not in the center town every time you wanna taxi they charge 25 flat feet to go to the center so it’s a 50 US round trip or a 30 minute walk.

The location of Villa Crawford was fabulously situated high atop a cliff overlooking the Gulf of Naples. The grounds were beautifully kept. The staff was cheerful, courteous, friendly, helpful, and informative. The restaurant was exceptional. It provided a romantic waterfront setting -- especially at sunset -- with dishes thar were delectably prepared and presented with colorful artistic culinary flare. My wife and I also liked that this property was located in quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento but within walking distance of it's city center.

The common areas are gorgeous but the rooms are dorm style (beds/decoration etc). We loved it - it was perfect for us - but if you are looking for fancy rooms and bedding it is not that type of place. The bathroom was the best we had in the 5 stops we made in Italy. New, clean and the shower was awesome - bigger than any bathroom in any hotel we stayed at. If you want to go to downtown Sorrento by taxi it was about $20.

Beautiful property, with an incredible staff!

The Villa Crawford is such a gorgeous property! I arrived early from my flight from US, and was warmly greeted by Assunta, whose customer service was outstanding. She told me my room would be available early, and as I sat on their beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, I fell in love with this beautiful property. She checked me in early, and my room was so lovely with a view of the sea. I decided to stay another night, and was assisted by Gennaro and Melina, whose customer service was also outstanding. The hotel and grounds are immaculate, with beautiful terraces and views of the sea. This is an incredible gem of a place, and I am so very grateful to have found it!

Unfortunately the lift was out of order, although staff did try to help us with luggage. Made it hard a slots of steps but the stunning serene surroundings made up for it. The staff could not do enough to help and allowed us use of the private chapel for a streamed funeral. We are indebted to them. Friendly staff, decent bar great food. The views are phenomenal from the property

Sunset Supreme

We had an ocean view room and the beauty was endless. You are in one of the most beautiful corners of the world. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood within a 30 minute walk to downtown Sorrento. The walk is flat and takes you along the ocean and beautiful neighborhoods. Lots of restaurants near the hotel. The rooms are clean and they provide fresh towels every day. This historic building, patio and garden are full of interesting background. The walls are a little thin but not too bad. The free breakfast every morning is simple but nice. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

The hotel itself & its restaurant has an amazing view. I was here in mid-May and the hotel had not turned on AC yet, so it got hot in the rooms unless you open the window (but there are no window screens to keep the bugs out). The staff were unaware of this and kept telling me they were turning our AC down, then eventually another staff said they don’t turn on AC until mid to late June. All of the staff we spoke to were very nice though and tried to be helpful. They also don’t allow outside food or drink on the property, which is pretty inconvenient since the hotel is located far from Sorrento. Rooms are outdated (two twin beds pushed together for our bed, shower is small). Overall, we didn’t feel it was worth the high price point

Villa Crawford is perfect if you want a quiet, beautifully renovated Italian style villa ( formerly a convent but with grand piano and 5star furnishings) and stunning views. The rooms are simple but very generous size, the verandah is perfect for drinking a cocktail while watching the sunset. All the staff went out of their way to help. The property is 10 mins walk to the local train station ( 1 stop to Sorrento ) or 20 minute walk to Sorrento centre. Lots of lovely restaurants close by and and a beautiful Italian style private beach to swim at down an elevator built into the cliff. We will certainly come back!!
