I loved that I was right by the Cathedral and could hear the bells ring! Great shopping, and food. Loved the Italian Restaurant right by the hostel, delicious!!

Arrived late and wet but the hotel was great
I enjoyed my stay despite arriving very late and wet from the rain outside. The TV was not working an my room wason the top floor without a lift but it didn't matter much. It was a gret experience and had a wonderful brunch in tge restaurant next door in the morning.

Great central location in the old town near the cathedral. Clean, helpful staff, stayed in unit 11 so no elevator not a big deal.

Great central location in the old town near the cathedral. Clean, and a nice helpful cleaner as well, we stayed in unit 31, so third floor and whilst no elevator, we were fine with that. The one drawback was the noise, not from within but street noise of people heading past in the early hours, and the quarter hour church bells from the cathedral, slept through some but an annoyance at other times when trying to sleep. Friends stayed at the same time in unit 11, and said they didn’t hear the bells, so the sound must carry across the rooftops.

Great Stay
Everything about it was perfect. It was in a great location just steps from the cathedral. There were lots of excellent restaurants nearby and everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. The room was clean, comfortable, easy access, and there was a balcony overlooking the street.

Good room very close to the Cathedral
A good-quality place very close to the Cathedral in the old city. (Perhaps TOO close, though, unless you have earplugs, because there are bells every quarter hours.) It is hardly a hotel, though, because there is no reception in-house. Check-in is done online in advance. Problems with the heating for the first night, but kind cleaning lady solved it by bringing in an extra electric heater. Kettle with coffee and tea-bags much appreciated.

GREAT DESTINATION IN SANTIAGO
Good valued hotel in the heart of the city close to the cathedral. The room and bathroom were spacious and well outfitted. The property was immaculate. The only interesting facet was not dealing with a face. Check-in was conducted via an automated machine just outside of the hotel entrance. Although perhaps efficient, it felt a little cold and not people-oriented. However, would definitely return . . . and probably will after completing another Camino!

Your first introduction is an unique automated check-in experience that is still working out the kinks. Its still dependant on staff inputting your expedia reservation so it was a slow process, but there was someone to answer the provided phone so it was eventually solved. The woman that cleaned and managed the front desk in the day time was very friendly and always had a smile. The hotel room design itself is somewhere between rustic and tired. The unfortunate issue was no internet in the room. I tried all three devices same result. Staff mentioned their phone worked fine in room, but I think that was due to having mobile data backup. I ended up sitting in the hallway to do all my internet work. Overall the hotel is over priced for what it delivers.

Perfect location, excellent facilities
The friendly receptionist let us leave our bags before check in and even moved them to our room before we returned. We couldn't use the ATM check in but luckily she managed everything for us. Lovely spacious room and bathroom with high quality fittings and furniture. We had a fridge, kettle with tea and coffee, mineral water, a/c, flat screen TV, a separate small glazed seating area, good lighting - even a coat stand. The standard of decorative finish was very high and the beams and stonework gave the room great character. The room was serviced each day and to a high standard of cleanliness.The only downside of being so close to the cathedral was hearing the bells which sound the hours, quarters, halves and three quarters day and night. There is good double glazing so maybe it was just the position of our room .

Attractive, simple and convenient
A comfortable and attractive hotel with basic but adequte services. Managed to get an early check in which was very convenient. A slight problem with the shower door was repaired during the day without any hassle. Very well located, within 300m of the cathedral and the San Clemente 24hr car park is close by.

Lovely place to spend a night. Close to cathedral.
Good experience. Although it does not have a lift and we were carrying heavy backpacks, the very nice young man at reception gave us a room on the first floor and even carried my backpack up the first flight. We loved it here for the location - centre of the village.

Automatic Check-In Machine not good for Santiago.
There was no staff at the hotel when we checked in (approx. 6.30pm) There was an automatic check-in machine on the wall outside the hotel front door - which was not user friendly and could not read my passport. I think this type of check-in is not something I would like to see in Santiago de Compostela. On check out we met Monica - who was exceptionally helpful and courteous. Monica's personality was excellent and helped changed the overall impression we had of the hotel. Please remove the automatic check-in machine and bring back staff (i.e. like Monica).

Nice hotel in old town close to cathedral
Very comfortable spacious room. Steps from the cathedral. Great location in old town. Except it only has reception on site from 9-4. We has problems with our entry key and it took half an hour to sort it out. We buzzed and two ladies from another location came and helped us. There is no elevator and we were on the 3rd floor.

Great location just a block from the Cathedral. Very nice cafe in hotel. Room was very clean and comfortable. There is essentially no lobby but it wasn't a factor in my stay.

One booking email advised me to use a credit card as well as secret number when I checked in using the machine (this happens after 1600 hours). This caused some confusion. It would be more helpful to say, use a credit card and your 4 digit PIN number. Just a minor point.

The reception is not really available. We were staying as part of our honeymoon. When we tried to use the shower, it was completely broken. The water would not come out, the pipes would shake (including those attached to the toilet) and they would sound like they were going to explode! Other than for the location, I would not recommend.

The centre is closed to car traffic except for taxis. Suggest finding a car park first and take taxi in.

I liked the location of this hotel best of all. Check in was not easy as they had given us the wrong confirmation number and we arrived after 4pm so no one was at reception. Then our CC doesn't have a pin so they had to send someone to help us which only took 5 min but it was still a bit frustrating. Reception is only open 9a-4p, outside those hours you checkin at a kiosk. The bed was not comfortable and I didn't like the pillows. The room itself was very nice-spacious with a desk and chair. We had a balcony which overlooks one of the main streets leading to the Cathedral. We were a 3-4 min walk from it. The bathroom was nice with a decent shower. Nice hotel with just a couple of minor issues but I still had a good experience and would recommend it.

Loved the decor and ambiance of this hotel.
Loved the location of this hotel-a block to the cathedral and shopping/eating all around. I didn't care for the bed-not comfortable. Wifi worked ok. Clean room and spacious. Had a problem with the kiosk at checkin so they had to send someone to help. A little frustrating but not terrible. Had a good stay-I would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel near the main tourist attraction.
You need to use your booking reference number & your credit card to get in. My New Zealand Visa card was not accepted. But after using the intercom, Reception turned up before too long. I'd give this hotel more than 2 stars for quality. But there is no elevator (it's an old building converted) for three floors. The staff are really nice.

Excellent value ... right in center of Old City
I was extraordinarily pleased with this hotel. It's located right in the heart of the Old City, literally a 2-minute walk from the Cathedral, as well as the main two restaurant streets. However, hotel itself is on a quieter street, so noise was never a problem. The hotel was very clean, up-to-date and professionally run, the front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. The hotel has a system of automatic check-in if you arrive later in the day, but this was very easy to use. Additionally, unlike many properties that are deep in the Old City, the hotel is close to Praca Galicia (where the Airport Bus sstops), which was very convenient. Overall, I was very satisfied. I highly recommend staying within the Old City, so that you can easily stop by the room during the day if needed, rather than walk 1/2 hour back and forth.

Amazing location right near the cathedral, exactly what I needed after hiking the camino and right next door to where you get your compostella. Comfortable and charming atmosphere, really felt like the perfect conclusion to the trip. It had all the comforts and privacy you might miss on the hike, but without throwing you into some really artificial 5 star experience that would completely shock your system after weeks walking across Spain. And the free computer and printing was a god send!

I had a good stay. The hotel was right next to the santiago cathedral, the room was clean and spacious and there was free bottled water on arrival and tea and coffee making facilities. Only complaint is the self check In required a reservation code which I did not have. Luckily the reception was open so got in fine.

Medieval gem mere steps away from the Cathedral
I loved my brief stay at Hotel Airas Nunes. One can't help but appreciate the sense of history as you enter the building through a medieval archway mere steps from the hustle & bustle of the Cathedral. This private hotel was quiet and my room was spacious with a private bath. I had requested a double bed, but all they had were 2 twins, which worked out in the end. Hardwood floors, strong AC and a lovely Juliet balcony completed the experience. A lounge, small business center featuring free wifi & free printing, and public bathrooms were located on the 3rd floor. I highly recommend Hotel Airas Nunes to self-sufficient travelers looking for something a little different. If you want a full service hotel experience with desk staff, concierge, bellman and porters, this is not the place for you.

Central location but with caveats
Small pousada in central, busy location in the old part of Santiago. Has no lift and doesn't serve breakfast, important facts which I don't recall were made explicit during booking. Restaurant next door (which receptionist recommended) only offers cake or croissants for breakfast. Single room was small and could hear next door occupants and nearby bar easily. Reception not staffed 24 hours and receptionist failed to mention that small communal lounge and computer/internet access was available on 2nd floor.
