Phi Hotel Bologna

10/10 Excellent

"This is a superb hotel. I could not recommend it enough. Great location, the restaurant is very good and a great selection. Really enjoyable. Just great stay for a visit to Bologna. The bed was very comfortable. My only issue was the shower over the bath was a bit difficult but manageable for me. Having said that the bathroom itself was spacious and very clean. A truly great place. I will stay again."

LVG Hotel Collection - Principe

8/10 Good

"This hotel was very clean, modern, and efficient, with helpful and kind staff and a unique location. The positives were the cleanliness, modern design and newer furnishings/room decor, the cost was very reasonable, and the hotel was easy to find while driving. Negatives were breakfast was not included, parking was public street parking if you could find it (although the hotel only charged 9 Euros overnight for the tag we put in the windscreen), and the public areas of the hotel were rather drab / uninteresting. We were relatively close to the Enzo Ferrari museum and local dining options, but a bit of a walk from the city center and our dinner restaurant. We even got to enjoy some political protests on the day of our arrival, very near the hotel. When in Modena... Most of our hotels were exciting enough for me to want to take pictures of our room, the facility, etc. The fact that I completely forgot to take any pictures of this one says something. It's a good, solid, clean, decent, modernist-ish hotel that does the job and for a great price. Just not as memorable as the other Italian hotels we enjoyed across 12 days and 7 cities while in country. It's the VW diesel estate/wagon of Modena hotels. See the photos I've uploaded...in addition to Zamian Piccola Osteria and Lambruscheria Modena...what's in the photos is what was memorable about Modena."

Hotel Porta San Mamolo

10/10 Excellent

"A beautiful hotel with excellent service and spotlessly clean throughout the entire property. The breakfast room was beautiful, a little haven with greenery all around and peaceful surroundings. A good choice of foods on offer. The room was spacious and modern with traditional touches. Especially loved the shutters outside the windows for full darkness at night. There was a little noise on the street during the night but nothing too bad as generally it is a very secluded and quiet street. The restaurant opposite was lovely too and location fab with just a 10-15 min walk to centre of the city and a 10 minute walk to the beautiful park. We stayed with our two young children and felt so well accommodated and looked after by all hotel staff."
