Staff very helpful and compassionate. ( I was attending my fathers funeral)
Breakfast, good choice, excellent food and poached eggs just how I like them
Perfectly nice hotel. Room was nice and clean. Public areas look lovely and breakfast was fine but with limited seating in the bar and no drinks outside after 9pm when there is entertainment it is not conducive to a nice evening unfortunately. Otherwise the hotel is absolutely fine.
The hotel was beautiful surrounded by amazing views! It was close to all of the local amenities which makes it perfect for a walk down to the seafront for food/drinks
Very pleasant staff make you welcome from arrival to departure. Not sure if the restuarant was operational but this could be a benefit some would desire. The rooms were adequate but lacked a bedside table.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. It was a really lovely hotel, we really enjoyed staying here with our 2 year old son and will be back again
We stayed in a junior suite and it had beautiful views and was really spacious. Having the small kitchen was really handy. The bed was huge and the whole place immaculately clean. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. We have a wonderful stay
Everything was smooth, and service above and beyond. I did not personally love the layout of the rooms especially in terms of plugs, as these could be difficult to find (even behind someone's head on the bed headboard), however this is a very tiny thing and generally speaking everything went well and was easy. Breakfast was delicious and service attentive. Thank you
Brilliant two nights at The Fig Tree Shanklin. Highly Recommend! First evening, after Dinner at The Steamer Inn down on the Shanklin Esplanade, we caught the lift back up from the Esplanade and walked to The Fig Tree to experience their Monday Open Mic Night which was good fun and we were given accompaniment instruments to join in the funas well as singing along. Really enjoyed the evening. The Fig Tree is an excellent place to stay. Residents can buy drinks from the bar anytime over the day. I have disabilities and there is a lift which was very helpful. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful and contained my favourite; Fresh Fruit including Kiwi, Pink Lady Apple, Banana, Satsuma and you can order all kinds of eggs. Full English or Veggie English as well as Porridge, and they layout small box cereals with Yogurts and Juices in the fridge + Coffee and Teas.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Pullinger stay
The hotel was lovely and so were the staff it was clean and comfortable, the only thing that ruined it for us was the toilet flush wasn’t working so we had to go down to reception everyone we need the toilet even during the night, and the constant flow of water coming from the toilet kept us awake .
Newly renovated hotel on the cliff road above Shanklin beach.
We booked a room at the front with large balcony with view of church and glimpse of sea behind.
Really comfortable superking bed.
Bathroom was a wet room, very convenient with a good shower. Everything in the room was clean and new.
We'll definitely be back
The staff at the hotel could not have been more accommodating, even allowing us to keep our rooms (at no cost) on departure day as there were problems at the ferry port.
Just back from the Isle of Wight Scooter Rally.
Lovely friendly staff, I didn't get the lads name who worked behind reception & served us drinks at the bar, but he was super friendly and helpful.
Accommodation clean and comfortable, although drawers in kitchen area in need of a wipe out. Breakfast was very well presented and good quality. Lovely selection of cereals & pastries.
Very enjoyable stay and would definitely go back to this hotel.
We have stayed at a couple of places on the IOW and most of them, let’s face it, have seen better days. This place has been recently renovated to a high standard. We visited off season, but there were a few other people staying. A nice, cooked breakfast is included, and the chef is very accommodating. There is a small bar with a limited selection of drinks.
There are only 2 parking spots at the front of the hotel and a larger parking area at the rear. If parking at the rear, you have to negotiate some steps and a gravel pathway, so if you have suitcases it’s a good idea to drop them off at the front before parking.
Overall, a comfortable stay with very friendly and helpful staff members.
