Ideal seafront location
The Europa Hotel is in an excellent location on Sliema seafront and has a convenient drop off lane outside away from the busy main road. Popular beaches are a short walk away, as are some shops including chain stores. There are many atmospheric bars and restaurants on the promenade. The hotel staff are very welcoming and mostly very pleasant, this includes those on reception,in the restaurant and cleaning staff. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious, the showers are excellent and free toiletries are provided. Breakfast too is very good with standard hot and cold offerings. Only thing missing for me is an inroom safe.

Just a room with a bed, no tv, no window, no kettle, it smells and you can’t stay in the room. DO NOT STAY HERE PLEASE.

Amazing staff, wonderful stay
There is much to like about Europa Hotel, but hands down the absolute best part is the staff. They are accommodating, helpful, and will do whatever they can to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as they can. Michael, in particular, is the best, and we feel indebted to him for all his assistance. He is also friendly and funny. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and big (high ceilings, too). Excellent location, as it is in front of the beach and right in between two bus stops covering many bus routes, including the X2 for the airport. Many restaurants in the area. We had planned to go to Gozo for a few nights in between stays in Europa Hotel, and decided to extend our stay here and go to Gozo for fewer nights. We were also able to leave some luggage behind until we came back, and it was accommodated in the best way. Great value and you definitely get more than expected for the price -- some negative reviews seem to want amenities more fit for four/five star hotels. Would happily stay here again if we return to Malta. Highly recommended. Thank you for everything!!!

Great staff, great value
The staff was great, and very helpful. The view from the balcony was amazing for sunsets. Although the hotel is a bit older, it's in good shape, and it's a great value. We extended our stay and then returned after a couple of days in another city. Very convenient for buses and the old town area.

Overall a decent value for price.
Room was clean and bed comfortable. Shower normal European size, which is to say small. Hot water was quick and plentiful. Had a harder time and a bit of a wait to get cold water. Location was quiet and an easy 30 minute bus ride to Valleta and decent connections to airport and places like Rabat/Mdina. Buses ran every 7-10 mins to Valetta and stop is a short walk from hotel. My room had a balcony that just looked on the inside of hotel walls which was not worth looking at or stepping out onto. Staff was friendly. Didn’t pay to have the breakfast, so have no opinion about it.

Nice, comfortable and clean!
Very good, clean and nice stay for people who likes to spend the whole day out and just come back to sleep. My room had a regular size, and I was very surprised with the balcony area (which was not included in the description). The breakfast is ok, nothing extraordinary, but tasty. The people who works in the hotel are very friendly and helpful, so I highly recommended to young people (solo, couple or friends), who wants a comfortable place to sleep and don't care too much about luxury or big sized rooms.

We had a sea view which made up for any “bad” aspects of the hotel. The sea view was beautiful and would recommend that room to everyone. The hotel was also situated in a good area with lots of things to do and see. However, the breakfast was not good. Very basic so would not recommend that. Also our balcony door kept breaking which wasn’t great. But other than that, I really enjoyed my time at the hotel.

For the location and the price we paid, couldn’t have asked for more. Early February and while not the warmest of temperatures, we had a beautiful view from the balcony with blankets to take the chill off

Good experience.
Very good location- near to public transport. It is basic hotel but good value for money. Worth to pay extra to have a room with sea view. Room was spacious and spotlessly clean. No kettle in the room. Reception staff not very welcoming. Breakfast simple, little choice.

Great value for money. The hotel is really well located, in a few steps you reach bus stops where you catch buses to explore Malta and it’s a walk distance from Sliema Ferries as well. Overall experience is positive.

Location was perfect, local bus stops almost outside. Room was always clean, fresh towels everyday. A mini fridge would've been perfect, if only big enough for us to water in. Breakfast wasn't our thing, but we loved "mint" just down the road.

Fantastic location, great value for money, had Seaview room which was fabulous. No hesitation in staying there again. Very clean. Breakfast was good, the usual European breakfast foods and an abundance of Maltese bread which was nice. My only comment I must make is that the breakfast staff should greet you with a smile and stop resting on the counter where you have to maneuver around them to access the cutlery and plates.

Good basic accommodation. Good size rooms and good breakfast buffet. The walls are thin so you can hear guests in the next room. Staff start early in the morning and can make quite a lot of noise which is disruptive.

Our Malta break in Sliema
Great location on the shore in Sliema. Bus stop only 150 yeard, Rooms clean and tidy with a reasonable selection of hot and cold food at Breakfast. Well worth choosing a room with a sea view. Stayed four days and found it quite comfortable, staff helpful and friendly. An excellent restaurant within 100 yards on the promenade. Good value for a few nights stay in a 2 star hotel in a very pleasant area of Malta.

Second stay here, would stay again
I stayed here during the freak storm, but all the staff were so helpful and accomodating, despite having to remain behind the reception desk whilst the doors got blown off the front of the building. So a bit more in depth.... The coin operated coffee machine broke, so the staff were giving out free hot drinks for the first day, but had stopped by the second day. This seemed a shame, because the second day is when the storm and 100km/h winds hit, so getting out anywhere else for a coffee was practically impossible too. The rooms were a good size, housekeeping was available daily, no complaints at all. It's a budget hotel, but this means no frills. It's still a good hotel regardless of price.

Nice location but room with no view!
Very good location by the boardwalk and beach but was booked into an inner room with no view. Staff is friendly and gave tons of good information. Breakfast is okay and varied although the juice and coffee maker needs to be updated or upgraded.

Lovely view of the sea from our room,room was clean newly refurbished bathroom, Luckily I took a travel kettle and coffee with me because no kettle in the rooms .. Ideal location walking distance to all you need ..staff friendly and helpful.

It’s not the Hilton, but I found it clean, comfortable and simple. Which is exactly what I wanted. Location wise it wasn’t pretty perfect for me was close by the town center and a few bus stops which would probably be how you’d get around. Also lot of good food places which range from expensive to affordable.

It's a sham; they cheat you at any point they can
Please be wary of the staff and of absolutely any services this hotel offers. The staff delivers to just the price of the stay. I was leaving today and realised that it being 25th December, the buses won't be working. Their reception staff, an old man, got me a seat in a shuttle which originally cost 5 euros but he asked me to pay 22 euros!! The hotel would keep 17 Euros commission for themselves!!! I realised this only after sitting in the shuttle and being told by the driver that everyone had paid 5 euros for the shuttle! What a sham! They also charged me the city tax twice because receptionists keep changing and the first forgot to make a record of my city tax payment! I'd recommend staying in a trustworthy hostel over this hotel.

Excellent value for money!
We thought this hotel was excellent for value! I would have given it 5 stars but didn't want people to think it's a "five star hotel". It is not. BUT it was clean, the beds were comfortable, the AC worked well, fresh towels and excellent service at the front desk. The one thing we would have enjoyed in the room was a mini fridge. I would definitely return here given the cost and what we got for it!

I was checked into a very shabby looking room, with 3 beds but I was alone!. Room had not been cleaned in a long time as after I showered my feet were black coming out of the shower. I mentioned to the gentlemen at the desk to change my room and he said maybe on sunday and a remark was made that "people expect a lot when paying so little" I suppose he was referring to me, so I replied that I wasn't expecting a dirty room. The day after the lady at the desk gladly changed my room and one of the housekeeping staff stated that my first room had been vacant for a long time!!! Breakfast was mediocre, eggs were very runny and watery
