Food and drinks in the bar were very good with a nice atmosphere The spa was very disappointing though as the pool was far too cold and most of the spa type features (jets etc) were not working. Also we mistakenly left an item in the room which the hotel staff told us was not handed in which is again very disappointing when staying at an upmarket hotel."

"I enjoyed our stay. Right in city center. The restaurant was great and cozy. The hotel reaches out when you book and recommends making a reservation. The room was a good size but a little tight. Same with the bathroom. Staff was really friendly and helpful."

"Good size, well furnished room, around the back of the pub, away from the busy main road. Well stocked for tea and coffee making. Would have been good if there was also hot chocolate available. Good shower with plenty of soap and shampoo. A hand rail would have been nice to have for stepping in and out of the shower as the pan was slightly raised off of the floor. Also needed a small shelf inside the cubicle for the soaps. Would have preferred the sink to be under the illuminated mirror as the ceiling lights were not very bright for using the small shaving mirror. The full English breakfast was very good. Would have liked to have had the option of cereals too. Very good menus for evening meals. It's a short drive to Cirencester, but there are no amenities within walking distance."

"Absolutely loved our stay at Asphodel Cottage, and our first ever trip to the Cotswolds. The cottage itself is immaculately kept and so beautifully decorated and, in temperatures pushing 35 degrees, we were so pleased to discover that it remains remarkably cool! The garden is delightful and we spent many hours out there soaking in the peace, tranquility and countryside views.Tarlton is well placed to quickly get into Cirencester which is a lovely, picturesque town, and we also enjoyed a day out in Bath which is about an hour's drive away. Highly recommend the local pub - The Thames Head Inn - and we also enjoyed a lunch at The Bell at Sapperton. We have completely fallen in love with the Cotswolds and can't wait to return."

"The barn conversion was tastefully done, with plenty of lounge space, and everything we needed. The background heat was good. The kitchen was well equipped, though not much extra storage space for all the food we took along. The grounds and quiet setting were lovely, especially the river and bridge area. Accessing that part of the garden wouldnt be easy if you have mobility problems, as you have to step over a low stone wall to get to it. Getting to the property and finding the right parking space was a bit difficult at first - and if you order from a certain supermarket beginning with T, it proved a problem for them despite directions, and as I forgot to switch my phone to wifi reception, and they tried to deliver earlier than they were supposed to, there was no communication until too late. So be careful with supermarket deliveries!Lots of interesting books on shelves around the barn, doubling as colourful decoration.All in all, we had a great time."
