"Stayed for one night after attending a nearby event….. Had a great experience at the Copthorne Hotel. Staff, room, bar and breakfast were all spot on."

"Great location. £12 breakfast was good, proper coffee from the machine too. My room on 3rd floor was great with a king size comfy bed. but my friend was on the 2nd floor and said the shower spoiled her stay. Both have step into baths to shower so a little dated but hers wasn’t the best experience as once inside the bath to shower her head touched the shower head. So not ideal. "

"Lovely hotel in a perfect location, we got a really good deal, so we’re very happy with our stay. We also got 50% off the menu in the chez mal restaurant using the fork app. Lovely food but very pricey without the discount. Would definitely stay again if the price was right. Great hotel car parking opposite at a bargain price of £6 for 24 hrs "

"The room we were staying, the decor was tired - not worthy of a 4 star hotel unfortunately. Upon arrival, wardrobe door was hanging off hinges, the wifi receiver box was hanging of the wall - room was also very dark. Pointed out wardrobe door to concierge and they had it fixed the next day, but should have been done before guest arrival - tables in hallway tired and peeling off. The staff was friendly though, especially in the breakfast room. Breakfast had a good choice."

"Beautiful hotel with an amazing old world feel. Our room was decorated/furnished in keeping with the castle and was very clean and comfotable. Wandering through the castle and court yard is highly recommended to soak up the whole atmosphere. An added bonus for me was to meet Lady Poppet - Lumley Castle's resident cat ❤️ She and the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. "

"Avoid 10th floor or anything with a quayside view if you enjoy sleeping as the noise from the roof bar is extremely loud. There is no warning when you book. We had to move rooms as a result. Staff were nice and pleasant "
