Hotel Reykjavík Grand

10/10 Excellent

"Breakfast buffet add-on was a great feature if you’re someone who is hungry as soon as you wake up. Nice selection of basics. This hotel is gorgeous, clean and comfortable. The lobby has multiple types of seating areas to make for a great common space for getting out of your room during down times. Walking distance into city centre for your shopping and restaurants , 10< minutes to a grocery for snacks, 10 minutes to the ocean walkway and far enough from city centre that buses can pick up and drop off at the front door. I don’t particularly recommend the restaurant though, if you’re wanting to spend good money on food go into the city centre. If you’re in a pinch and don’t want to go out after a tour, order a burger from the room service menu."

Vík Apartments

"The app the hotel wanted us to use was a nightmare and was not working but thankfully the hotel next to the apartments was finalizing the check in process. The room was large enough for my whole family. There was even a washer dryer that was very needed. Walking distance to restaurants. All and all a nice place. Clean, quiet, and the black out curtains helped a lot. Wish they had a fan or AC because it was very warm when we stayed there. We would stay again."
