This tiny little hotel is located inside Diocletian’s Palace compound. They park your car off site for 40 Euros per day. They do everything for you. Steps to the palace buildings, shopping, fine dining.

Fantastic luxury hotel. Great location, great service, great breakfast. A little hard to find initially but not a huge problem. Not much spare space but wonderful bathroom.

Lovely hotel, wonderful staff, Ivan met us at the pier and helped carry our luggage all the way to the hotel. Edith is wonderful, could not do enough for us. Breakfast in the courtyard was truly amazing, 3 course meal! Split is delightful, these people made it a wonderful memory.

This is a lovely charming hotel! Our room was beautiful, the staff was excellent and overall, just a really nice stay. I was sad to leave when we check out. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looing for a classy, lovely experience.

So glad we found this place. Stayed at a total of 6 hotels during recent European trip and this, by far, was the best. The staff was as accommodating as any St Regis or the likes. While the rooms are small, you are inside the walls in the palace, beautifully appointed and very comfortable beds etc.

Just steps away from the Diocletian Palace, makes you feel like you are staying in the palace itself. For a being an old property, everything was very clean and well-maintained. The reception made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. And we greatly appreciated Ivan who was so kind in helping us with our luggage transfer to and back from hotel. I would absolutely recommend staying here for a visit!

Great location, amazing service!

We loved our time at Heritage Hotel Cardo. We felt like Roman royalty in such a historical and well maintained old building and so close to the Diocletian palace and waterfront. Luke and Ivan went above and beyond making sure we were comfortable and had all that we needed. They also assisted with getting our luggage to and from the hotel. My only complaint is the bathroom had a sewer odor which I think is from the old plumbing in the old city and not a hotel problem, but it was a bit pungent at times. It aired out with opening the windows and rubbing the bathroom fan. Other than that, would recommend and stay there again when I return to split.

Great stay, highly recommend!

We had a great stay at Cardo hotel. It’s amazingly located, very clean, friendly, hospitable. It’s a definition of a great hospitality. There are many good hotels, but often they fall apart when issues arise, Cardo excelled at solving and helping us make the best vacation ever. Our arrival time kept charging from day to almost midnight, and made sure that someone waiting for us with umbrella at the parking spot. They helped to navigate logistics and did it all with a great smile. Everyone is smiling and top notch. Their manager makes sure to personally greet you as well and make sure that everything you want is above and beyond and then some. Also as a bonus, in our room we had exposed historical brick wall dating to 15th century. Thank you!

5-room hotel, they did not even offer bottled water instead the night manager told us to drink tap water. Breakfast was good, but you had to walk outside to a nearby restaurant. The room was super small, Yotel rooms in an airport are larger. This hotel is not worth anything more than $150 per night. The positive was the daytime shift manager, she was warm and courteous. Sorry I forgot her name. Expedia misled us with advertising this hotel and this was not worth the price, PERIOD.

My granddaughter and I stayed at this beautiful hotel in mid April and from the moment we stepped into the hotel we thoroughly enjoyed the experience! We were given a warm welcome by the owners and nothing was too much trouble during our stay. We had the family suite which consisted of two bedrooms, one being up a small flight of internal stairs. They were beautifully furnished with both double/king beds being extremely comfortable. Coffee and tea making facilities were available along with a small fridge. Everything was spotlessly clean. The hotel itself is within the palace walls with narrow streets and stunning architecture. We were fortunate enough to have very hot weather but our surrounding were cool and very pleasant. Breakfast is taken in a nearby restaurant nestled in a courtyard and was so delicious we spent more than an hour there every morning. The hotel terrace was equally inviting for a late evening glass of wine. All in all an amazing short break and we would not hesitate in recommending Heritage Hotel Cardo!

Our two day stay at Hotel Cardo was enjoyable, quiet, comfortable, and we felt well taken care of. Located smack in the middle of the old city, a 20 second walk from main square was the ultimate in convenience. As the area is a UNESCO protected site, the renovation of this old structure was nicely done with beautiful hardwood floors, doors, and furniture. The room was nice size, the bathroom large with all amenities and very good quality fixtures. As this hotel only had 5 rooms, we had excellent serivce for the staff who met us upon arrival outside of the pedestrian center to help with bags and getting us to the hotel. Thank you Dominic. Breakfast is served around the corner at a little restaurant and was massive with fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, bread and butter, a platter of prosciutto with cheese and fruit, a selection of eggs, then desert (chocolate cake or waffle with fruit). It is a meal that lasts all day. The location in the old town affored access to several dozen restaurants and even more bars all within a 5 minute walk. All in all, and despite the high cost for the room, we were very pleased and would highly recommend.
