Pictures don't do this cottage justice! It's beautiful! We stayed for 7 nights with 3 children, the boys loved having a bedroom of their own and the daughter claimed her own bathroom, so she was happy too. Lovely views which are better from the 1 st floor and the garden is great for eating in if the weather is good, although remember everything as it's 3 floors if you forget the cutlery. Kitchen is well equipped to cook or the pubs are a 2 minute walk to eat out, we particularly enjoyed the Harbour Tavern where the locals made the kids very welcome. Tea on the Quay was lovely for good coffee and a cream tea, the kids loved She Sells for ice creams while they were crabbing.
Plenty of shops to pick up bits and pieces in Mevagissey including bakers and a lovely very well stocked greengrocers. Bigger supermarkets in St Austell were easy to get to.
The children enjoyed playing on the beach when the tide was out, and crabbing (quite successfully) when the tide was in. We also travelled a fair bit and saw Lands End, St Michael's Mount and Padstowe, all were a fairly easy drive.
Parking is provided in a car park in the town, a good 5 minute walk from the property. You can pull up outside on the road to unload and load suitcases from the car, but the locals are used to the narrow roads so are quite patient.
We had an issue with the boiler while we stayed, a couple of phone calls to Liz who manages the property and the problem was resolved within an hour. The only minor negative was there wasn't a mirror in the master bedroom, so had to go up to the attic for a big mirror. We have been advised by the owner that there was one but it had broken just before our stay, and will be replaced as soon as possible.
