"If you fancy a comfortable, clean and friendly Dorset inn with the best of breakfasts and delicious high quality meals, book in at The Marquis of Lorne. Surrounded by wonderful views, walking paths and close to the sea. Great for relaxing without children, also great for young families - an excellent garden play area."
"The Old Ship Inn is the perfect place to stay during our trip to Dorchester and surrounding area. It’s a gorgeous Inn tucked into a very special old pub. Our room was very clean, and the beds were super comfortable. We will be coming back here for sure. "
"Nice and clean - a good stay. The hosts were really great when I arrived quite late at night due to a missed train, and were really helpful in making sure I could get right into my room easily. I really appreciated their helpfulness and easy communication.
There are a number of pets about the house including dogs, who make a bit of noise in the evening and early morning, but not too bad.
I would be quite happy to stay here again."
"Beautiful spot and secluded, allowing for great walks along the cliffs, very hospitable staff, good food, welcome after a long treck, or to set us up nicely for the day with their great breakfast."
"We booked to stay here 2 nights in June. The day we were to arrive we got a message from the hotel to say that they were undergoing renovations and they would refund us for our breakfast charges and give us a free to-go breakfast one day. Annoying as we have a very picky eater and the buffet is a main reason we booked Premier Inn. When we arrived it took the counter staff ages to check us in as apparently there was something confusing about the booking in the system. She was very nice though. So...

"This was our second stay in this beautiful old manor house situated peacefully within a few minutes walking distance of West Bexington Beach. Once again we had a wonderful stay.
The food was very good. There is an excellent choice for breakfast, all of which was nicely cooked and presented. We also ate in the restaurant which was very good with a varied menu choice.
The bedrooms are a little tired in places but this in no way reflects the cleanliness of the room nor comfort of the mattress, duvet, pillows and linen. We had a sea view room which was just beautiful. Our room and the hotel in general is so very peaceful.
The grounds are exceptional with sea views and horses and sheep in the surrounding fields. We sat watching foxes and rabbits playing whilst drinking a G&T, just perfect.
The hotel is within a short driving distance of Abbotsbury and its attractions and also Lyme Regis etc is about a 30 minute drive away.
We will return one day for another peaceful and relaxing stay. The Manor House is very special. "
"Parking is a nightmare all year around.
The hotel staff are lovely. The hotel is slowly being modernised. We decided to stay an extra night and was able to experience an updated and quieter room which was lovely
Both rooms were clean and tidy. "
The Hide With Private Wood Fired Hot Tub. A truly romantic getaway on a Vineyard
10/10 Excellent
"This is my fourth time staying here, and I keep coming back for many reasons. The place is so peaceful and tucked away in a quiet corner of the vineyard — perfect for unwinding. Simon and Karen are fantastic hosts: they totally respect your privacy but are always around if you need anything, and they're genuinely lovely to spend time with. The wines are great too! There’s plenty to see and do in the area, plus lots of good places to eat if you feel like dining out.I don’t know what else to say — I wouldn’t keep returning if it wasn’t this good!"
"The house and location was perfect for us, a family gathering where the downstairs bedroom and bathroom made things easy for my elderly parent. So wonderful to relax here!"
"Wonderful stay for a birthday celebration. The hotel is perfect for kids, it exceeded our expectations on every detail. A big thank you to Karen who was absolutely lovely and even got our toddler eating pasta when he was not listening to us!! We will be back. "
