"Although the host was charming, the accommodation was not. The room was so small, you had to squeeze around the bed to get to the bath. There was a table and 2 chairs wedged between the bed and the wall. What once was a closet housed a toaster, coffee maker and small fridge. ‘Breakfast’ was a do it yourself in the room with packaged rolls, slices of bread, two cartons of yogurt, juice and milk. This would have been ok if spread on a sideboard down stairs but not in the room. There was no shower, only a tub. The room was at the top floor, up 3 very steep, very narrow flights of stairs. We weren’t given the WiFi password and attempts to reach someone were fruitless. The decor hasn’t been updated in decades. One or two of these could have been tolerated but combined made for a nightmare stay. We left after 2 nights of a 5 night booking. "

"We found the property very well appointed except for crockery where we were disappointed that there were no cereal/dessert china bowls or side and dinner plates. With just four plastic dinner plates and three large fruit bowls this was inadequate and our son provided the missing items when he and his family arrived on Saturday.Also when we arrived we were surprised to note that the washing machine was full of what appeared to be white linen bedding and the machine flashing to note the end of the wash cycle. We switched off the machine which then locked. However, we did not need to use the washing machine.Finally, we had a second door key cut as for some of the time our son's family stayed with us they needed to return to the property at a different time to us. We left the second key attached to the key ring placed in the secure locked key compartment.Overall we would be happy to recommend the property as a good and well appointed holiday home in a very convenient location in StamfordGill & Michael Webb"

"The accommodation was a perfect location from the station and to walk into the town within a few minutes, everything easy to get to including Burleigh House grounds.We arrived for a week, during the heat wave and did find the cottage very warm and uncomfortable even with the windows open. However the managing agents ordered two fans for us when we requested some, which eventually arrived on our fifth night after they chased Amazon. We were very impressed with their quick response to our messages and also sorting out the rubbish bins that were all full when we arrived and starting to smell in the heat.We briefly sat in the little garden but because the only door to it is through the glass front door it did feel a little unusual but understand that this is the design of the building.The showers need a little attention. The downstairs shower tray fills with water, the plug hole probably needs unclogging and a deep clean. It looks like there has been previously leaking as the surrounding skirting board look water damaged.The upstairs shower over the bath has a very sensitive mixer tap and the water can be very hot.Apart from these minor flaws we had a lovely time, in, a pretty cottage in a really peaceful area.
