Stamford is a delightful historic town that's certainly worth seeing. A great range of shops - including many independents. A good place to break a journey or from which to take a holiday in that part of England.

Car parking is very stressful with few spaces and narrow roads, so research where you can park beforehand. Place itself is lovely. Great for couples.
The Bull Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western
10/10 Excellent
"I have stayed at the Bull Hotel once before because I live in Skegness and I needrd to catch an early train from Peterborough. So, when I needed to do the same thing the Bull was the obvious place to stay. There is plenty of parking, with two EV chargers. I programmed my car's sat nav with 3 Fitzwilliam Street Peterborough as the archway over the entrance to the carpark is immediately to the left of number 3. The room I had was clean, tidy comfortable with two armchairs. The bed was comfy. I ate breakfast there. Breakfast is a buffet. Breakfast was an enjoyable experience. To quote MacArthur when thr Japanese invaded the Philippines 'I shall return'."
"Excellent - comfortable and very clean room and bathroom; breakfast is served in quirky bar downstairs and is excellent - they bring everything to you. no elbowing other guests out of the way over the muesli bowl (only joking!).
Hotel was clearly converted from a house, it is easy to get most between, bar, hotel and reception."
"An amazingly well kept 16th Century (some parts are older) Stately Residence now offering relaxation and top rate hospitality in a beautiful setting. They say Northamptonshire is all Spires and Squires. Rushton Hall Hotel delivers this experience just minutes from the A45 and 20 minutes from the A1.
Highly recommended to the overnighter or weekend stay. You won't want to leave, belive me."
"I love this place. I was surprised that a tap in the bath was leaky, and therefore running all the time. Otherwise flawless, friendly and really lovely "
