Riverside Lodge Hotel

"What a lovely place to spend a few days very clean and well decorated hotel. Room and bathroom were very clean with a bath tub for me and a shower for my lady. Always a good thing. However, we thought that the bed was a little to hard for us. We never ran out of clean towels as staff must have replaced them every time we were out. Talking of staff, all were lovely and welcoming. Reception staff were very helpful with all of the information I kept asking them. Breakfast staff were very pleasant and attentive. My lady had the cooked breakfast for a couple of days which she said was excellent. I just had cereal and fruit every morning which was my usual. Bowls could have been bigger so I did not need to go back so often though. I loved the beer but my lady never said what she thought about her Chardonnay. She did however take a shine to one of the male barmen and kept asking for him to serve her. Did not get his name. A couple of things that I had issues with. Room doors would not close quietly you had to pull them a bit harder to slam them. So, late at night and early in the mornings all you heard were other guests slamming doors. Toilet paper was WAY TO THIN meaning we had to fold it a number of times to use it. My lady was complaining that there was no full length mirror or an electric socket next to the bed as she likes to listen to Siri on her phone during the night. Of course it would have been good for me to plug an alarm. Lovely stay though."

Laighdykes Guest Cottage - Charming Coastal Getaway

"We enjoyed a two night stay in the property which is adjacent to the main house. We were able to park right outside on the drive making it easy to unload the car. The check in was simple with a key code access provided by the host prior to arrival. Communication was excellent Richard was attentive and friendly. Although there are two bedrooms only one was accessible the other being locked off. The main accommodation was lovely clean and tidy with a TV in both the lounge and bedroom areas. The lounge is open plan with a fully equipped kitchen. The bedroom had a very comfy double bed and an en suite with a shower. This is the only toilet in the property I belive, which may prove tricky if other people need access during the night. However that wasn't the case for us and we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return in future."

"The staff were very helpful and obliging; the room was comfortable and had a sea view. It also had a TV, which was not advertised on the website - an omission which should perhaps be rectified. As to breakfast, I was a bit disappointed that there was no fruit available as an option - but no objections were raised when I brought in my own supplies. Despite a fair being in operation on the green opposite, it was very quiet - EXCEPT on the Friday night when there was a function with loud music on in the room downstairs until midnight ; I suppose one has to accept that when staying in a hotel open to the public, and fortunately it was only the one night. And it also meant I could get a meal at the hotel on the evening I arrived, which was a plus. So on the whole I had a very pleasant stay."

"House was very clean. We feel like we staying in our own house. Very quiet. Bed so confortable, very clean. Big garden. We had dog was was perfect for us have the garden behind the house. Town is very nice. Tv, Netflix we had there. We recommend very much staying in this house. Price what we paying for 5 days was very good. We had bikes with us and we go around Saltcoast. So nice town and all towns around. All big shops around the house like Lidl, Aldi and Asda. Town centre small shops and restaurants for all to visit. We want said Big Thank You For All."
