"We stayed for 1 night whilst in Buxton to see a show at The Opera House. Our usual hotel was fully booked so though we’d try The Old Hall. The accommodation areas are bordering on dilapidated. Characterful no longer applies. We spoke to other guests and they found the same with one even without a working shower. Major staff shortage. The breakfast area was ok but 5 members of staff had rung in sick ( including the manager, which suggests low morale ) so the food etc was in short supply. The 2 on duty did the best they could but woefully understaffed. Overall, we wouldn’t stay again."

"This is a great holiday let and good base for the peaks. We found it super comfortable and very pleasant. It's a new house with all mod cons and super fast wifi. I mention that as there is no phone signal on any network (you'll need wifi calling) . Mind you just a little further towards Buxton and it's 5G?. Maybe a new mast will arrive. Anyway, the place was spotless and good to relax in. Private garden not particularly overlooked. Lots to see around the area and if you're keen, Alton Towers not too far. Pub and chippy not too far. Domino's will deliver if you're lazy. Thoroughly recommended if you want to go walking ir caving in nearby area."

"A lovely clean room.....staff were very friendly and helpful...breakfast was fresh and good. Bar was busy with very friendly customers. We traveled down from Scarborough for football v Buxton...after the game the bar was very busy but the home supporters made us very welcom."

"We had a fantastic stay, the host was super and informative. The room was large and bright with a huge compfy bed. We had an excellent nights sleep. Breakfast was mammoth and really tasty. It’s a short walk into town so really well located too. We will definitely be back! "
