"We stayed at The Weir House over Christmas and it was honestly magical. The setting is absolutely idyllic — right next to the river with beautiful views of the rapids, Yat Rock, and the little cottages twinkling with Christmas lights on the hill. The house itself is stunning. Spotlessly clean, incredibly spacious, and the beds were really comfortable. The kitchen was so well equipped with every piece of kitchenware you could ever need — the owners have clearly thought of absolutely everything. It was beautifully festive for Christmas too, and there was plenty of space for us to host my family for Boxing Day lunch. Being right next to The Saracens Head pub (also very festive!) was a lovely bonus and perfect for dinner on our first night. The only tiny thing was that I couldn’t find anything to clean out the fireplace, but I’m sure the owners would have helped straight away — we just didn’t want to disturb them over Christmas. It was a higher price than we would normally pay, but we were completely rewarded with a magical stay and an unforgettable Christmas. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Weir House — it’s a very special place."
