"Our room was filthy the first day. So we had to go to dinner while our room was cleaned. That cost us $100. They charged us $25 a day for bikes and a trolly ride that we never used because we didn’t even know that was a thing until we checked out. They also charged my 7 year old daughter $15 for some cereal. The only good thing about the place is the location on the beach. The hotel itself is gross. "

"We were there for two nights and two days. did not get cleaning service, coffee wasnt replaced and on the second night they evacuated everyone cause someone vaped in their bathroom. My mom is 72 and she had to walk down 9 lights of stairs and 11pm. Completely ridiculous. I will never stay at this hotel again and do not reccommend it to anyone."

"The beach was nice, the pool area is small for the property size ,staff was very nice, they did miss housekeeping twice during our stay,overall though very nice hotel"

"Very clean large rooms. Great view from private balcony. Staff was wonderful. Ate at Toast twice for breakfast. Good was delicious. Seating at the pool fills up quick, but they do a good job of removing towels from chairs where people have not sat in 30 mins. Pool bar and food service was great. Loved that we could sit by pool with all of the services and restrooms but still had a view of the beach. Two pools overlook the Gulf. Another pool overlooks the inter coastal waterway. Each room comes with access to two bikes per day. Did not see anyone using them. Very walkable from resort to plenty of restaurants, shopping and activities. Very family friendly resort. Free snacks and water refill station on each floor. Even had a cabinet full of games to play. We will definitely stay again!"

"From the moment we arrived we were treated well . Employees know how to take care of customer needs. My wife and I had a beautiful room with a great view. The room was continually cleaned and refreshed. The pool is beautiful and the restaurant delightful . We will definitely be back. Thank you Opal Sands management and staff! "

"Although the room was clean, the room and the hotel were dated and kind of creepy. Furniture was old and looked like it came from a thrift store. Ocean view but balcony looked like it would collapse any minute and facing the ocean and Main Street it was loud"

"Very disappointing stay. The hotel was not clean including the lobby, room and balcony. Also, staff are not friendly, parking is valet-only at $40/day which you’d need to pay if you have a car despite being perfectly capable of parking your own car, and they charged a $35/day resort fee despite offering no real amenities. On top of that, we paid a $460 deposit at check-in. Overall definitely not worth it."
