"We only spent one night at this hotel but that was our plan. Loved this place, magical scenery near by, quiet street, Wild life in abundance. Walkable to the city center. Staff spoke English well. They were busy with diner service but took the time to get us settled in. Made sure we had everything we needed for a well rested night. Made our beds for us and even made us a hand written thank you note. Would recommend to anyone staying on this island. We also chose to eat in town. The town closes when the ferry leaves, so they gave us some directions, and recommendations on where to go when it all closes for diner elsewhere."

"Having it being my first time in Hiroshima as well as Miyajima Island, I’d say that it was the best decision ever! The ease of everything was very satisfying. The ferry was a great experience as well! Seeing the sheer amount of people that visited during my stay definitely made my time there much more enjoyable while dodging crowds. One thing to note during the stay there is that the deer are everywhere and that they will come up to you lol! Try not to leave anything out that will spark their curiosity or hunger lol! The Hotel is a very short walk through the town, making it a nice and easy walk after a long day of traveling. Hotel and staff make it very comfortable upon walking in as it is a homely environment altogether. Definitely take advantage of the amenities and the breakfast and dinner options! If you’re a picky eater, definitely send your requests ahead of time. Also, the bath is amazing and open from 6am to midnight! Make sure to relax there at the start and end of your day! Another thing to note are the groups and trips that come there so on around them as necessary. In closing, if you want to experience Itsukushima Shrine before the crowds and the surrounding areas, stay here🔥 I forgot to add the many stores and restaurants! For the beer lovers, there is a good brewery on the island as well as a beer vending machine lol"

"I always try to stay here when I visit Miyajima. Most of the other hotels are quite expensive so this one is a real gem! It has a great location and now they have a lobby bar with tasty drinks, and you can also order grilled oysters!"

"We had a truly wonderful stay at Miyajima Machiya Hotel Shiomachi-An. The location is excellent, making it a lovely base for exploring Miyajima. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the omakase dinner. It was an exceptional culinary experience, thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. We were especially happy to have the opportunity to try fugu (pufferfish) for the first time, which made the evening even more memorable. Breakfast was also delicious and a wonderful way to start the day. We are very grateful for the care and hospitality that went into making our stay so special. Staying here was a memorable part of our time on Miyajima, and we would wholeheartedly recommend this place to other travellers. Thank you very much for such a lovely experience. We hope to have the opportunity to return someday!"
