Pros 1 convent location in Tangier Medina
2 clean, lots of space, appears to be recently renovated with new appliances and furniture
Cons 1 communication, upon arrival the individual had no idea that we had booked. Maybe this is a new VRBO. Was able to sort it out and met us at the door for initial walk through. After walk through would take hours or even the next day to return calls or texts for needs while there.
2 when we woke up after the first night notice what appeared to be pee stained sheets. Gross. Told the gentleman in charge that morning. We’re not able to have them changed until late that night due to lack of communication.
3 lack of air conditioning. Although that seems like a petty gripe it is clearly stated on the website that there is air-con. In June Tangier is hot. 90’s and humid while there. Only fix was to have all the windows open. After first night asked about it thinking maybe we just couldn’t find it. Once again lack of communication and was given a fan.
3 noise. Due to needing to have all windows open there was no barrier to all the noise. Apparently people in that area of the Medina don’t sleep. The cafes ands shops were bustling till 2am. A gentleman was walking with a loud speaker yelling at midnight every night.
4 safety. As stated appears to be recently renovated. The stove had an electrical issue. Would shock me by touching it. Unable to cook any food due to the safety issue. Told the caretaker, not taken care of during our stay.
