"You notice a calming atmosphere when entering the hotel. There is a lovely furnished seating area by the reception, lovely decoration. Every member of staff we passed talked to us, and offered their assistance. They carried my suitcase up and down stairs for me as there was not a lift. The staircase needs to be mentioned, its wide and sweeping with lovely stained glass windows. Each step not to high, and easy to climb for people with slight disabilities. Room very comfortable, bed slightly on the softer side, but I slept well despite a back condition. Bathroom had a shower over a bath, and the sides of the bath was quite low to step over. A very enjoyable experience."

"The hotel still looks great from the outside. The bar, lounges and reception looking modern and clean. But the room I had felt dated and in need of a fresh decoration. Wallpaper coming lose on the ceiling. Floorboards lose. Bathroom you could see sealant had been applied many times around the bath to stop leaks. I may be looking at the details to much, but newer hotels you do not see any repair jobs. Breakfast was great as well. Just needs some TLC in some of the bedrooms, to bring back to the high standard you expect from this hotel."

"We had a wonderful stay here and would absolutely recommend it to others! The hosts were incredibly kind, helpful, and responsive throughout our trip. They communicated very promptly over messages and calls, and gave us clear information about parking, amenities, and check-in/check-out which made everything stress-free from the start. The room itself was exquisite — spotlessly clean, beautifully laid out, and thoughtfully designed. We especially loved the warm, low lighting which made the space feel so cosy and relaxing. Everything we needed was provided, and the WiFi was very easy to connect to and worked perfectly throughout our stay. We also felt very safe and comfortable here. Although it’s conveniently located on the high street, it still felt peaceful and slightly secluded. The proper key locks on the doors gave us extra peace of mind as well. Overall, a fantastic experience with wonderful attention to detail. Thank you again for such a lovely stay!"

"The staff were amazing at this hotel—it is a basic hotel with a nice continental breakfast and a few hot items in the morning. it’s reasonably priced. we arrived in Darlington and unexpectedly, our other hotel did not work out. We had no hotel and were panicked! We were so glad that this hotel still had vacancy and was even able to accommodate the bed type that we wanted. The staff went out of their way to give us directions, help us find a good restaurant and feel very comfortable. This chain of hotels is known for quiet accommodations. This hotel was definitely quiet and comfortable for the one night. We were there and we really appreciate the staff at this hotel."
