"The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and provided us with handy information about where to go and dine on Xmas Eve/Day and attractions around the city. The facilities were very modern and the décor was artistic. The breakfast got a good variety and was high quality. The location was superb (super close to train station and shopping district). Highly recommended!"

"This is a superb hotel. We stayed for 4 nights in December and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. The prison conversion has been accomplished to a very high standard with loads of original features incorporated: cast iron stairs, the chapel and even an isolation cell. The rooms were warm and comfortable, being decorated to a high standard. Breakfast was included at our rate and proved to be excellent with plenty of choice, including Finnish specialities. We ate dinner at the hotel on 2 occasions as it was included and suited our plans. It was a buffet and perfectly pleasant, but not exceptional. Fika (afternoon tea and cake) was a lovely touch and very welcome on a cold day. Staff were friendly, helpful and naturally spoke faultless English. The number 4 tram stops right outside and takes you directly to the city centre at least every 7 minutes. "

"The Scandic Grand Marina was a great hotel To stay at, the staff were great, it’s close to shops and attractions, the Christmas markets are also in walking distance … the free breakfast was delicious with a big variety to choose from .. I highly recommend staying at the Scandic Grand Marina when in Helsinki "
