2. Hintertux Glacier Ski Resort

Visit Austria’s only resort offering year-round skiing, the Hintertux Glacier Ski Resort. The resort features more than 37 miles (60 kilometers) of slopes, with pistes above 8,200 feet (2,500 meters). It is part of the larger Tux-Finkenberg ski area, which encompasses more than 24 individual pistes. Bring the kids to the family-friendly beginner areas or hone your skills on the challenging free-ride runs.

3. Garmisch-Partenkirchen Ski Resort

Garmisch-Classic Ski Resort (formerly known as the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Ski Resort) is a world-class ski area high in the Bavarian Alps. Considered one of Germany’s finest, this ski resort hosted the Winter Olympics in 1936 and the debut of alpine skiing at the games. Discover a large expanse of skiable terrain across several mountain areas, from easy beginner slopes to daredevil black-diamond runs. On the south side, check out Kreuzeck, Osterfelder and Hausberg. 4. Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl)

Sit down in one of the many bustling cafés or restaurants that line the outside of Old Town’s central plaza, and your eye is drawn to the fabulous sheen of Innsbruck’s most famous landmark. The Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl) is perfectly framed by the neat, white, Tyrolese buildings and the peaks of the Alps beyond. 5. Seegrube Cable Car
